Just wondering if anyone has done any exhaust mods and how they sound. I'd like to do a catback but I don't think it would give me the low-deep rumble that a bigger engine would. I dont want to turn my truck into a ricer... lol.

Anyways, if you did anything to your exhaust, what was it, how much did it cost, link if it was ordered online, tips, etc. Thanks.

did exhaust re-route to move it around the transfer case instead of under. Cost $150 for material and labor. made room for my BAMF skid plate

    I agree^, I haven’t heard any 4 cyl sound too good.

Anyways, if you do still feel like it, I’m running a magnaflow offroad pro($350). It dumps around the rear axle. Has a nice gurgle, but isn’t loud enough to be called a clapped out shitbox.

To be fair, I got the truck last year. It had 1 former owner and only 40k miles. I bought it from him for $5000 cash. He was older and developed Parkinson's disease and couldn't drive anymore. I offered him more but he said he didn't want or need the money. Since then, I've put about $1500-$2000 into it. Some of that was cosmetic and some was necessary. Suspension was leaking, one of the rotors was cracked, mostly simple stuff. I'm just looking to give the truck something extra without pissing my wife off by spending big money...lol

Only time i have ever heard any tacoma sound good with an exhaust is with headers and a aeroturbine 2525. The areoturbine gives it a performance sound even for the 4cylinder because its a large muffler. The V6 with long tubes, cut out rear “cat” (resonators) and a aeroturbine sounds badass though.

I used to have one. Doesn't sound bad, but I enjoy my Black Widow Venom 250 muffler now instead.
