What do the steps to get married to someone living in Italy look like? I am mainly interested in learning of the trouble our governments will give us and the hoops we will need to jump through.

PITA. Best to consult an immigration attorney if you can't find the rules online. I did it 20 years ago. Basically find out before the wedding, because in many cases, at the moment of marraige your bride will be stuck whereever she's at for 6mo or something like that if you didn't have get prior permissions accomplished, and even then maybe still. I don't think Italy will give you much prob, dunno, but U.S. Immigration will be a guaranteed nightmare, especially since Bozo got elected, and more-so since Covid.

How do you say "I want 1/2 of what you own'' in Italian.

And speak to a lawyer that specializes in OOC marriages and immigration. Be aware you are on the hook for her maintenance costs of living if you import her and the marriage goes south for ANY reason. Doesn't matter if you are married even a short time. Look it up and make sure you realize how that works, it's pretty terrifying.

I agree. A cousin of mine married a woman from the Philippines and they tried to do it themselves. Finally got frustrated and hired a lawyer. He said even though the bill from the lawyer hurt it was worth it for his sanity.
