The usual frame for rust. Get the frame thoroughly inspected, especially by the converrets. An 06 won't be covered.
I think early 06's might have had a head gasket issue. The gasket was redesigned in early 06 production l believe. See if you can find out manufacture date

    Holy shit that’s rip off.

access cab, 2006, chrome instead of color coded trimming, it’s not a 4x4 (correct me if I’m wrong), it’s like a base model with very little “upgrades”. The rims don’t even match. Lol.

    I’d offer $5k

If you pay anywhere near the asking price, you might as well bend over a chair for them while you write them the check.

    No we use cinder.

06’s have head gasket failure. $4k repair bill. FYI.

Not so anymore. Salt used for the first 100 miles from the borders. They just built a new salt shed near me. So, be sure to wash your frames.
Wasn't/isn't there an issue with the AC drain line draining onto the frame and causing rust on the pass side?

Oh dang. Well as far as I know in Bend, they still use cinder and deicer. Maybe deicer is salt. Lol

Deicer is a salt but it is only used in a few select areas of the state, West hills of Portland (maybe expanding to all the PDX area) and some southern areas of the state, this truck has been in the Cottage Grove area mostly (almost midway north/south)
It has a spare on it atm the matching rim is in the bed waiting on a new tire due to a side wall puncture
It is only 2WD but that's all I need, my playing off-road days are behind me
The order date is June of 2006 is that should put it in the back half of the model year and post the 2005/early 2006 head gasket problem
Is it more than it really should be yes but that's the local taco market from what I can tell. Anything cheaper has open recalls, spotty service history, heavily warn interior, is on a shady budget lot or a privet party asking way too much (I've seen 90s asking over $10k)

I'm guessing that in your particular market this price seems reasonable for wjat you're getting?.

Because every market seems so different .

I doubt it. That car dealer is just trying to prey on the uninformed and emotional as many car dealers do.

the fact that car dealer hasn’t even replaced the tire before putting on the lot tells me how much they care.

    Seriously....offer $5k

That's not going to accomplish anything. They've got way more than that in it. Like most used Tacomas, the previous owner didn't just roll over and give it away. Dealerships have to put a bit of coin in these used rigs. It's the market on them

/e: I see your recent post. Disregard. ;)

    Just looked at the listing.

15k for a 2005 access cab in 2wd with over 150k miles. That’s 5k too high at least.

there are way better deals out there.
