Suggestions, the air condition is not that cool. I was told not to fill the freon myself, because I can ruin a compressor seal.

A few years back I filled mine on a Nissan Frontier, I'll never do it again. The compressor was shot and it was a $1000 replacement cost. I went a while without A/C.

Just went through this- get AC dye and inject with a can of freon (just use enough to get the compressor running or to get the dye injected) - Use a UV light to detect the leaks (uv dye) - Mine was the condenser. At least you will have an idea what or where it is leaking. Then you can DIY or take it to a shop.

first, have you swapped the cabin air filter and cleaned the condenser in front of the radiator?

    Yep.

Too many people think that refrigerant is the only reason for poor a/c cooling.

    Do this ^^^
also when is it “not that cool”?
All the time? In slow, or stopped traffic?

These truck are known for their poor ability to draw sufficient air across the condenser in slow or stopped traffic. (Idle)
The hotter the outside temps. the worse it gets.
~95 degrees is extremely noticeable for me.

I just had mine recharged at my dealership. They tested it for leaks and replaced the Schrader valves...good as new for $150.
