OME LEAFS

For those who have installed OME rear leaf springs how much lift did you receive.

 

2.5" after it settled.

 

Is that with the shell on in your sig

 

I got about 2.5" as well, no topper.

 

No. I added a

$81 d29xl leaf spring

d29xl aal with the shell.

 

I put the Dakar/OME rear springs, I did not use the XL (Added Leaf), but it still lifted the rear about 2-3/4" on my Long bed, but I did put toy-tec 3 degree shims in also, to angle the rear diff up so it was less strain on the drive shaft parts. (U-Joints, center bearing etc...)

NOTE: the photo with the lift I also have 305/70/16 Cooper Discoverer STT tires which make it look a little full in the wheel well.

when i installed mine i didn't need to add the shim, the angle looked good for me. lift wise i was around 2.5 in. of lift. The ride was noticeably stiffer, but overall i wanted a bigger payload without bottoming out the lame azz stock leaf paks.
i feel better about changing out stock leafs. If your on the fence about getting these, these are totally worth the money. Here is a link to my install.

thnks for the comments, i was contemplating this all week, and after the outrageous quotes for install i just saved myself some serious coin on this. the ride is great compared to stock shocks and wimpy leafs plus the revtek aal. there are some good dirt roads and right on the next property they are developing some land and its all tore up from dozer and an excavator. I did some serious flexing and i noticed some vibration at start, i am putting on shims next week after the coilovers go on and the drive shaft spacer so hopefully that'll cure that. right off the get go i heard some clunking when going over some ruts and very uneven terrain, i then took out everything in my truck box> that was the cause, 1st aid kit and tire inflator was clanking around in the back. PHew! I freaked for a minute. any how when i do the fronts and get her all cleaned up i will post final pics/or do the right thing and do a "BUILD THREAD" A shout out to all the sticky originators on this forum. (chris4x4) was a big help on his aal sticky. ITS MILLER TIME BABY!!!!!

 

Sorry, I could not help myself when I read your link for your install. I have heard many people say they got vibration after adding the leaf springs. Most places just say add drop kit to center bearing. I did not do the drop kit, but did do the 3 degree shim. NOTE: I have the Long Bed DBL Cab so my drive shaft is longer and that gives it less angle.
