    NOOB alert.

I have a ‘20 3.5 AT Tacoma which I’ve recently put larger tires on and I’m new to the OVtune thread. I have read quite a few posts (but wow there’s a lot) and read the instructions on how to do the ECU reflash.

    BUT.

I’m confused as to what exactly I need to buy from OV at this time.

Do I buy the VForest tuner and the 3.5 Tacoma tune pack?

I also am deducing I need to buy a generic OBD2 usb cable elsewhere. I might have one of those already...

    Thanks for any help!

Nope. But ovtune is coming out with a wireless OBD2 adapter. Likely be more than 189$ though

Thanks. I think that first link has the cable combined with the software for $380. Plus the $390 for the Tacoma tune pack.

Just dropped some on 5.29 gears and finished break in period and am still not happy. Hoping a tune might get me straightened out. Going to try one more thing before I pull the trigger and spend the ~$800.

I just installed 5.29's this week. What other thing are you trying?

I did the OV Tune from a local guy on the cheap ($50) and it seemed to help. Overall, I'm satisfied with the results.
