Anyone know if the stock 4cyl access cab exhaust is stainless steel, I did a quick high heat paint coat on most of what I could get to last night, just curious if it's made of stainless or not. Stock exhaust usually lasts a long while so I'm assuming it is stainless

Thanks. I guess coating it with rustoleum high heat cant really hurt. I did this on my first gen exhaust and it's still going strong with no visible rust.

New wheels installed yesterday, huge shout out to Matt from @Discount Tire for the help and getting everything set up so all I had to do was show up and drive away! Very happy with the results. Have today off work so I'll be doing some work to get rid of the rub on the wheel liners.

Do you have fender shot showing the tire bump out? I like these but don't want fender flares.

16x8 -10. Stick out maybe 2 inches. Definitely need flares, rocks hit the sides

Speaking of fender flares, are they available for the SR Access cabs and will they work with WeatherTech mud flaps or do they need to go?

I am leaning towards black fender flares of some sort. Would really look cool on my truck!

trucks without factory flares don’t have the holes for OEM fender clips, but lots of guys still run the OEM flares with some VHB tape, or something like that. i think you use a few factory bolts around the mud flaps/splash guards, and then just tape around the upper arch... there’s a thread on it here somewhere; i’d dig it up if i weren’t on my phone.

there are a few aftermarket flares, although IIRC they are mostly enormous and make your wheels look tiny. OEM is the best look.

and for the mud flaps... i think there are two SKUs for those molded types. one for trucks with flares and one for flare-less... so it depends which ones you order.

OEM looks best to me personally, but itll cost you. No flares here but I'm looking to make up some high arching flaps to stop paint deterioration.

Iirc the weather tec flaps come in a flared and a flareless option. You'll have to determine what option you have installed

Honestly flaps save your paint. This is my first gen. 19 years of general maintenance and no rust prevention on heavily brined roads.. this just started last year when it was parked on the beach for 8 days (salt air) and it just got aggressive. The fronts are totally fine because I have mud flaps.20200723_183439.jpg 20200723_183450.jpg
Aside from this my paint looks great. I wax it only once a year (spray wax). I should have kept the flaps on the back but the bolts rusted out and broke.

Plus no flares look so cool. I'm an OG SR fan.

I dont particularly like the look of mud flaps, but they serve a few purposes so after I'm finished with my fog lights that's my next project. Paint protection and not pissing off people driving behind me. I have to figure out something that is
    1. Functional
    2. Looks good
    3. Provides adequate scrub radius clearance for the aggressive negative offset

Wow, thanks everyone for all this info!

I like the black on red look with the flares but I may not want to tackle that project right now.

Maybe applying tailgate letters is more of my speed!

Here's my SR Utility with the flares added. I have since added RekGens mudflaps but don't have any pics with them on.

Thanks, I recently added LED fog lights too. So far I've added an N2Designs remote start, intermittent wiper stalk, ECT always on mod, bed mat, and weathertech window visors. Sitting in my basement is an Eibach stage 1 kit with Headstrong 3 leaf AAL, and a set of FJ Cruiser 17" steel wheels. I'm probably gonna run 255-70-17's, maybe 75's. Haven't decided yet. Also swapped the tweeters out and have a set of Harmon Infinity's for the doors to install yet. I have a vision of what I want my truck to be, it's just gonna take some time to get there.
