Removing spacers

I have a 2003 Tacoma 4wd. I got the car used and I’m not enjoying the spacers on the vehicle. Not sure exactly if I can just swap everything and go back to stock. Since the spacers look to be more than 6 inches.

will I just need new u bolts for the rear? Possible new shorter bolts for the uca? Or should I just buy a ome kit and swap everything?

also will I have any issues rocking a 265/75/16 on a stock suspension?

This is really bumming me out. I uploaded a photo of the crossmember, it doesn’t look like the photo. So I’m guessing it’s been modified

@bursthead looks like it's a 6in lift kit from Rough Country (link below). The bad part is that you are kind of screwed. Rough Country drop bracket kits love to hack and slash parts of your truck's frame to install their kits, so you will need to look for another 1st gen truck being parted out, cut some parts off the frame, and weld it back onto yours if you want to drop down in height. I added the pdf instructions as well. Read through it and look at the pictures. You'll need to undo everything included in there.

I would just drive it as is honestly, too much work to reverse it. That being said, you could also try switching out your shocks. 5100s that you have up front are known for being a bit stiff on the road, and the shitty pro comps in the rear are just shitty. What tires are you currently running? If they are low profile and/or LT rated tires that plays a lot into ride quality as well.

Tires are LT rated tires. What do you recommend to switch the shocks to? I want something way more plush.

I will contact her tomorrow. I'm running a 265/75/16.

Now will it be possible to get something like a fox racing suspension with a 3inch lift and get rid of the spacers? Or do I need to find coilovers that are designed for 6 inches to make sure everything is in spec?

it's not too bad, plenty of dudes run drop bracket lifts without issue. Your crossmember is the kit that I linked you to. You can see where they bolted it in. There's one more crossmember behind the front one that is also bolted in place and that's the one that is cut.

What tire size are you running? Try to find something P rated. As for shocks, you can run something similar to oem like bilstein 4600s. The rear is going to be tricky since stock or even most aftermarket lengths won't work. Just to double tap I would suggest talking to Marie over at Headstrong Offroad. I am not seeing a lot of 1st gen options but if anyone can point you in the direction of better aftermarket suspension that can work with your lift it should be her.
