@TacoMike Im interested in doing the N2Design remote start and the Intermitent wipers, If you dont mind a few questions, How do you like those mods ? Where did you get the wiper stalk and part number of it ? Thank you for any information. I defiantly like the mods you are doing.

Hey fellow SR owners. After purchasing oem fog lamps from a TW member for a good price, I finally broke down and spent the $333 for all the remaining OEM parts to install my foglights and bed lights. I have to say, at least for 2020 owners, the bed light kit is a really nice addition. The kit is easy to install, plug and play, the wiring dresses into factory clips, and is relatively inexpensive. The light kit with the wiring was $50, and if you have ever put your kayak in the bed at night in the woods you'll realize that this kit is almost a necessity. 20200724_074419.jpg
My 2020 was prewired and even had the relay already. I also splurged on the cabin switch to have full control. From what I've read if you dont install the switch the lights will come on with the door open. I wanted a way to turn them on/off whenever I please so I spent $60 on the factory switch. 20200724_074444.jpg
My 2020 also had the relay and fuse for foglights in the fuse box which was a bonus. Used all factory wiring and the steering wheel off stalk method so it's just like it would come off the lot. So for right around $350 I added some very functional lighting and didn't have to do any splicing or wiring. All plug and play. Nice upgrade to my SR.

@2k2 those bed lights are awesome. I must add them in the SR5 I have on the way to me. Once I get a tonneau cover they will be very helpful to see things back there.

How did you get the lights mounted in your grille. I like how you darkened the Toyota emblem too.

Yeah, the bed lights are actually my favorite mod thus far. The first month I had my truck I went night fishing and I couldn't see a damn thing when loading my kayak in the bed. I had to open the door to use my interior light to see what I was doing. That led to 100s of bugs in my interior. I said the heck with this, I need some lighting back in the bed. Research led me here and the 2020s are all pre wired so no wiring needed -- no relay needed either.

    84267-0C020 - Switch, Cargo Lamp $60
    90080-87026 - Relay, Deck Lamp $10

For my grille, I bought the ijdmtoy light kit for around $30. I removed the grille, measured, measured some more, measured again, made a template and poked some holes in the top plate of the grille -- slowly widened them out from the BACK. It was a really tight fit due to the way the back of the grille is molded and there was really very little margin for error. I spent a good deal of time dressing, and protecting the wiring for a factory look and also for ease of grille removal in the future. I used an add a fuse attached to my drivers side headlight. Last night I moved that add a fuse to my foglights but it was no bueno -- grille lights were always on, so I moved it back to the headlight. I didn't want to splice anything, ideally it would get spliced to the DRL, but with less than 2000 miles I'm not really ready to start tapping so I guess itll stay attached to the driver's side headlight. I used a dark smoke vinyl sheet from vivid for the TSS emblem. So far so good I haven't had any issues with any of the tss features. The vinyl is too dark and I'm planning on replacing it with light smoke at some point. You can still see the sombrero but its faint.

Nice I am definitely adding in the bed light. Since I will have a double cab I don't think I need the relay and the switch should already be in mine. So can't go wrote for $50.

I'm not sure about all the cutting on a new grille. Maybe that will have to wait a bit.
I assume I can find the smoke tint on Amazon here https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0725RT1QS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ZpUgFbWXC1C10
    looks pretty easy to do.

Haha. I know what you mean. I hated the factory SR grille on the 2020. I decided that I was going to get the xtrek grille, so I "played" around. I added some vertical supports so i can attach a screen to protect the radiator. Then I put vinyl over the TSS sensor, then I added the grille lights. Now the grille has grown on me and I dont have to spend $300 for a cosmetic upgrade. I really like the xtrek grille, I just cant justify spending $300 for aesthetics. I'm more about function.

https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2016-2018-3rd-gen-intermittent-wiper-mod.397942/ Here's the tutorial for the wiper mod. I can't remember where I got the stalk from. It took about 15 minutes to do. If you've ever driven it a light misty rain for several hours without intermittent wipers it can be a pain in the ass. The N2Designs was a complete plug and play, well worth the cost.

I'm actually not opposed to the SR series grilles at all. I don't like that the SR5 comes with a chrome trim ring. I will probably eventually swap it for a black SR one or paint it dark charcoal to match the grille. The Toyoda logo could be subdued some. The wrap I posted a link to should fix that. The lights in it are cool but just for looks mostly. Maybe I will get 3 and space them like is done on other grilles when I get the other things I want done. The truck is not even here until after 7/31 and I got a list going. Some already ordered or here waiting.:spending:

I've been considering using the MGM paint on my grille. I think it would look good against white.

Anybody have had this issue with the multi information display screen. Had the truck for 7 months. I know it's still under warranty. Just curious

Not the greatest grille in the world but I like my black SR grill much better than honeycomb styles which I first saw and hated 40 years ago so overused.

I saw a couple people with this problem. May want to poke around a bit as I don't believe this is an SR only issue. Saw someone have this issue on a Pro as well.

Okay will dig into it. I already contacted the dealership. They will figure out the issue. Best case they'll put a new one.
