My brother-in-law is an Apple reseller & home theater solution/installer in the rich section of Kennebunkport Me. I spent this weekend with him & he brought one of his demo ipads.
It did remind me of big itouch w/ some internet capability but was told it doesn't do well with sites running flash. :notsure:
When I asked about him getting me one he told me to wait. I trust him for he uses/tests/experiences the good & bad of all products due to his business.
It did help while traveling looking up stuff & kept the kids busy. After seeing & getting to have one for a weekend, I don't think I would buy one.
Of course I would take a free one at Christmas. Hint hint Jay if you are reading this!

Have one, only wifi version, use it for app development. Bottom line, it's a very COOL device and many will pay the high price. I find it very useless however, it's good for reading material, but troublesome for write task. It can do a lot of cool stuffs but take too much steps to do a simple task. Hence, i went back to my 15-inch MBP for after-hour web browsing, email and whatno.

I like mine, it is wifi only. I mainly use it for traveling and surfing while watching TV at home. I had to keep my laptop plugged in most of the time and the iPad's battery last around ten hours. Believe me, that makes a difference when traveling across the ocean and you don't want to watch the movies the airline is showing.

    Does Plasti-Dip count as a mod ?
Just picked up my 32G WiFi yesterday. Posting on it at this very moment.
Much easier than using the iPhone.

I'm a Mac guy. Make my living with them.
I sure hope the price is worth it !

I am a big mac guys also. I have the 64gb 3G and i love it. I also have the iphone 4 and a 15MBP and i use the hell out of my IPad. I use it a lot for work, i can load all of my flight manuals onto it and take that instead of my 20lbs worth of flight manuals i have to have for every flight. Makes a huge difference. And the battery is killer i have to charge it like once a week or so.

Ipad is great and so damn easy to just pickup and surf the web or check your emails in half the time it would take you to do it on your computer. Oh yeah your doing all this while walking to another room or on the john....We take it on trips to work or just fight over it at the house. It does not replace a desktop or laptop in my opinion but it makes surfing the web much more fun and easy.

My biggest bitch on Ipad is the lack of a flash player and how you go to numerous web sites that only do flash. How hard would it be for apple to work out their problems with adobe...?
