I also have a 2005 with 198k. I have done a lot of work on it since I got it in February.
I knew what it was going to need when I bought it though, I wanted a project anyway. The big appeal for me is that even with the initial purchase and the cost of parts it's still less than half the cost of a new truck.

It'll depend on how much work you want to put into it.

^^This is what I would recommend if you can. Mine has lived in West Texas all its life so I have zero rust issues, otherwise I would have looked for something else.

    +1 on both of these.

On my work truck (Ford) I have this problem alot. On that truck there is vent and a little holding tank for debris. Once the vent gets clogged up it will start filling super slow.

The only problem with my theory is that when it happens to my work truck it is always during the winter in the arctic. Talking -40° is an average day so my vent will clog with ice

Edit- I figured it was implied but the vent comes off of the gas tank

Seriously I'm just learning how to work on this thing.
Are you able to clear this vent out? it sits around the fill point?

No, the frame is flawless. It never lived i a midwestern state and honestly, that frame recall makes the whole body look new.
