I first had a cheap Cobra Ultra III and that served me very well, with 4' Firestik. Now have a President Johnny 3. We all run Baofeng or some other HAM unit, I'm handheld, others are truck mounts.

I'll need some convincing to jump into HAM. The only times I use comms are when I wheel (rarely) or to find out why 65 is a parking lot, so CB is really enough for me and idiot proof.

License is required for HAM radio if you communicate with others. No license needed for listening only which means you can not talk with others until you get license. License is not required for CB radios.

I went out to check my truck for tow hook to make sure. It's on my driver side...

@My Name is Rahl, is yours on driver side too? Or on passenger side? If passenger side, it might be different based on package.

I'll see what I can do but I may or may not have new ones by then. I have spent over $1000 for the racks and maxtrax set.

If not, we can use the stock one for now and next year, I probably have new bumper by then.

I only have the passenger side. It's a steel loop, not a hook.

Strange. Mine is loop.. Not J shaped hook. Which is mounted on driver side.

It'll work in a pinch, plenty O' soft shackles at Rush. Dont want to hook an Instagram shackle on there tho

I decided to take my front sway bar off now, so I could see what I thought and/or get used to it.

Pretty much no change on road- maybe these Fox 2.0 are better than I thought..... Bombing though some dirt areas is it night and day. Phenomenally better without the thing. Should have done it long ago.

My handheld was cheap, under $30. But I agree, the HAM only gets used when I wheel for me as well.
There are family and general use channels, kinda like 19 on CB, for HAM and that's what we use. License isn't always required.

Driver side has a welded loop, mostly for tie down on a flatbed tow truck or similar. It's not exactly for yanking on heavily, but we've all used ours in a pinch.
Passenger side should have a roughly 1/2" thick L-shaped piece of steel with a hole in it. That's your recovery point.

Once I upgrade to something more stout than a 5100 and ome springs I’ll get rid of my sway bar too.

In other news, had an 06 tundra in the shop the other day wanting new rear shocks. After getting the truck up in the air and looking it over, other than noticing the shocks were just hanging from the lower mounts. The upper mounts were so wallowed out from the shocks beating around the new bushings would pull right through the existing holes. But I gotter fixed up real nice

I need to remove mine as well. Its just work and I'm lazy and don't like work. Plus my UCA'S, tie rods, and axles suck bad enough as it is
