Ah, I think you're right. Bummer. I found this kit that shows the box with part # and just the bars.

I bought a set and wanted it to work or fit probably and it didn’t. The front gap at the windshield drove me nuts i have a little ocd with stuff t like that. If it doesn’t fit 100% correct im not installing it. You definitely have to bend the front bracket down a little but i still wasn’t happy with it. So i sold mine. But i do love the look of them on the truck

This is what I’m afraid of as well. I don’t want to install it if it isn’t going to fit properly like oem should.

What did you have to Dremel?

I can't see it being Toyota's fault unless the OEM racks didn't fit.

The Toyota sheet metal was hanging over the opening of the bolt threads. Had to grind it down on two holes to get a bolt in it

Because FB seller claims these are new in box OEM and they’re about $200-$250 cheaper than buying brand new lol

Tell him you would like to see the hardware package as well. There are mastic washers that go around the holes the rack gets mounted

Good idea. I wonder if the package has a part number or anything?

I bought an alleged OEM for $200 on Ebay. Fit was OK - not perfect. I couldn't tell if it was in fact an OEM or maybe an older OEM version. Get a photo of the opposite end - there should be little orange alignment clips. On mine, they were not orange, but I'm pretty sure the true/recent OEM rack has the orange clips. For $100, this is a no-brainer. If you are meeting in person to buy, take your gaskets off and put it in place to verify the fit before payment.

That's not the truck's gasket, it's the neoprene/rubber pad that comes with the rack.

There’s a little tail section of weather stripping attached to the rack that goes down the back of the cab and dies off under the rear window weather stripping. That small piece has adhesive so make sure that that little section hasn’t been cutoff and the film is still covering the adhesive. If it’s missing then I’d suspect it’s been previously installed or it’s aftermarket. The toyota OEM doesn’t fit perfect either so if you get it and it’s not exact then don’t freak yourself out thinking you’ve been had. The front mount locks onto a Christmas’s tree fastener and it’s really awkward to lock it down and make it fit tight to the body.

But you seem to be stressing over it....

So roll the dice and lose $100 if it’s a complete fake, and you’re left holding the bag, and are going to have to spend another $400 to buy the OEM. Total cost = $500

buy OEM for $400 and rest easy. Total cost = $400

OR risk $100 and it turns out to be OEM and you save $250. Total cost $100 (but you need to buy hardware)

go with the middle option, man, not worth the risk

not just that but let’s say you think it’s OEM, but a few months later it starts to leak into your roof cause it’s actually not OEM, now you have an even bigger mess

I get it, I get what you’re saying. Buy once cry once. Not exactly stressing, just not trying to make a dumb move. Just sort of wondering if there is a part number on real OEM racks anywhere that I could use as proof. If I can’t find some definitive proof then buying oem new is exactly what I’ll do.
    Seller says hardware is included.

when they say cross bar not included. That is the horizontal bar that you would mount any thing to. These are rails that the cross bar would attach too.
