I’ve been up there for sunrise once or twice. I could feel the earth rotating.

Its a great place. I've been going to the Outer Banks as long as I can remember. I got engaged to my wife on Jockeys Ridge in 1998. We walk up every year to watch another sunset... Special place to me.

Yes you are correct Adam. Not going to air my grievances out here, but am 100% satisfied with my purchase and service dept of Koons Westminster Toyota. No one is my immediate area from Bobby Rahal in Carlise, Fitz, Younger, DaCars in Fredrick could touch my purchase price. Gave me a very fair trade in on my 2010. I will go back!

Morning folks :hattip:. Glad to see the weather was good at RC takeover. Drove up Friday night to meet up with @Armyhater458 to pick up headlights from a TW Express and hit spots of heavy rain. Cleared up and weather looked good. Be safe driving home from RC folks.

    Bald Eagle SF..

So I've got time off in August.. and would love to go exploring a bit.

Any tips for a solo newb?
Don't think I'll be camping overnight as the only tent I have is a ground based, and I'm not fond of bears.
Thought about booking a room nearby, having two days to explore.

From the threads I've seen, it's pretty much mellow trails.
Been looking at the maps and reading here, figured I'd pick a stretch and just do it.
New shoes by the time I go, otherwise truck in good shape.
I don't have all the 'tools' and such like most of you do. Just the essentials.

I need to get away, if even just for a day.
This is fairly close and would be an excellent escape during the week.

Good morning all. Looks like another scorcher in my area. Planning on getting the bike out for a ride before it gets too hot.

So I've been thinking about moving up to a Tundra for a couple years now. Mainly for towing, family comfort and power. I love my 2013 Tacoma Baja dcsb that I bought brand new in 2013 and has been paid off since last summer. I'm not sure if I would sell my Tacoma outright or trade it in. Probably sell outright either with or without most /all the mods/upgrades. It only has 71k miles and daily driven. All suspension, tires, brakes and steering parts are new. Religiously maintained and taken care of. Can't believe the prices on Tundra's went up so much. I'd definitely want a dcsb, 5.7 V8, tow package on the Tundra. My sons are getting bigger and the inside of the Tacoma is getting cramped. What are y'all's thought on the Tundra's. I know mpg's aren't great but they aren't great on my Tacoma either. Size in the city will be another issue with parking but the pro's outweigh the con's. Not jumping in a Tundra right now with everything going on but I want to get the ball rolling. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Right now as dry as its been, the trails will be rocky and close. Only a couple of mud holes to be found. Everything can absolutely be done 100% stock. The only thing I'd worry about is there are some sharp rocks on some trails, not sure on your experience level on dodging sidewall damage.

There are bears around but I've not heard of any nuisance bears in the area. RB Winter has a nice campground, though there are a ton of dispersed camp spots as well, I think. Edit: Wrong person, someone on here has a thread about it.

And if you get in trouble I'm like 15 minutes away from the RB Winter area, the southern area obviously would take me more time to get to.

Agreed, if Toyota doesn't get their head out of their asses with the next gen Tundra compared to what Ferd is doing, there's just no way I'll be going that route. The 7.2kw onboard generator option is amazing.
