    6” Fabtech lift 35/12.5/17
    Hello,

New member to this forum & somewhat new owner of a 2019 TRD Sport 4x4 AT...Only modifications done to the truck is a 6” Fabtech lift with 35/12.5/17 tires. Based out of Nor-Cal. Did these mods when there was about 2k miles & now have 11k miles. Next mod on the check list is to get the truck re-geared...heavily debating between 4.88 & 5.29 gears. I’ve read multiple threads & watched multiple videos! The scale heavily leans towards 5.29 gears just for the fact of having 35s on the truck but I don’t have ANY armor on the truck, nor do I really plan to add any in the future. I can put my toys in the bed & looking at possibly buying a camper at about 4,000 lbs in the future. I will not be rock crawling by any means. Just go off-road in dirt & snow. Plenty of trails around here. But running stock gears with the lift & 35’s driving up hwy 49, I-80 & 50 the truck is ready to commit suicide finding a gear to be in going up those hills & elevation. I live down in the city & this is my DD. I do a mix of stop & go driving from lights & stop signs to hwy driving everyday for my commute to & from work. Honestly 70% of my trucks life is a pavement princess. But I’m ready to get gears done ASAP! Especially driving 9k miles on stock gears with large tires & lift.

From what I have read, with 35s you will actually get to use 6th gear if you go 5.29s.

Ya I agree I talked to a couple more shops & they all said 5.29s. Now the more I read a lot of guys are saying they can only go a max of like 86 mph...not like I’m always hyping to be going that fast but I do usually stay at about 75 on the hwy. just don’t want my truck to be screaming

    6th gear is 0.58
Calculator shows 2500 rpm for 85mph on 35s with 5.29s
    upload_2020-7-25_21-36-24.jpg

At 6000 rpm your speed would be 203 mph
