What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Ha, yea I bought it with 26k back in April, already put 5k on it. Unfortunately I think I’ll catch the mileage up in no time!

 

Modified this conversion harness for my navigation install into my base model truck.
I moved three wires around and was short one wire but had a second harness to pilfer.
I have to get a piece of foam to wrap the connector and start adding wires to my 20P connector that's in the truck for the added functions, just have to make sure I have the right terminals first.

Did you add the tip to prevent melting your tire?

 

I do but they need redone badly after 4 yrs

 

If you end up doing this please share results/your process because I'm also considering it.

 

I have had my oem sport wheels plastidipped for the past five years. The general coating of them will give you about 2 years in between recoating them, but i highly recommend it to anyone that wants to change the look if their truck and to protect the wheel itself from pitting. After the wheels start to peal after about 2 years, I peal as much as I can off by hand and then I use goo gone to take the rest off. Underneath my rims look just as good as the day they came off the lot.

 

I have my exhaust dumped over the axle without a tip and it never affects the spare

Bad day yesterday.

Went out to a state park with some friends for Cornhole, swimming, etc, good time but when I was leaving my friend opened the door to the car next to me right after I took off and it caught on my wheel well and did an absurd amount of damage.

Driver of the car felt worse than my friend who did it, she wasn't responsible at all!

The dents in the back were there before, but this dent is huge and I would like to fix it. I'm not sure if a dent puller will work because of the curves, but it's worth a shot. The whole panel is $500, so definitely cheaper. Any tips are welcome!

Didn't get mad, my wife was surprised haha. I love this truck. Life isn't worth getting mad about stuff like this(although I certainly want to be lol.) Might have the friend who opened the door split the panel cost with me 50/50 if I need to do it, I feel like it's partly my fault because I parked a little too close.

Haha, I’ve got family down in the San Diego area. I’m always happy when I cross the border into Nevada on the way home.

I had a lady riding her bike past me when I was airing back up and she wouldn’t take no for an answer. She called her husband to come help me. This is exactly why I fit my air fitting on my first gen to the bumper, so I don’t have to open the hood.

 

The sheet metal forms easily, a light hammer and a dolly and a couple thousand taps later and it'll be close to perfect.

 

I had the same experience in Utah. Had 5 or six people ask me if I needed help while I was airing up my tires with the hood open. Which is part of the reason I mounted my ARB compressor in the bedside cubby

 

Yeah, I think that’s where I’m going to mount mine when I get one for this pickup. Not too keen on modifying this one too much until it’s paid off though.

Leaving Wednesday for a 12 day tip to Wyoming threw the Black hills so did an oil change, changed out some bulbs got all out camping stuff ready. Tonight need to put on the awning and basket. Getting pumped to get out and explore a new area!

Start at the outer edges of the dent and as those outer edges get straight keep moving towards the center, but always working the outer edge.
