Hello all! First time truck owner here. I grew up in the country in rural Florida, but became a city slicker by the time I was learning to drive. I've typically owned small sporty cars like the two different Miatas I've owned, a VW GTI, and a couple Hondas. I chose a Tacoma now and couldn't be happier.

I got a truck that came from a friend of a friend. Mostly a one owner vehicle, it was sold from a guy to his brother as he bought a new truck and his brother didn't want him to get so little on trade-in. Then the brother proceeded to install an Icon stage 3 lift kit and raise it 3.5", 33s, a winch that sits pretty nicely within the bumper without sticking so far out (Texas Steel), full stereo, 4.56 gears and locking rear, and some Rigid lighting to replace the fog lights.

Now I'm the proud owner of a 2008 2.7 5 speed manual 4x4 access cab in Super White with about 180k miles on it and pretty detailed service records. Right now the truck is mostly a mall crawler, but I'm putting the pieces together to buy a home in the Lake Tahoe area and need something that can handle the landscape out there.

I love the access cab, longer bed, manual transmission, and 4 banger. I got an average of about 24.5mpg on the first tank of gas I burned in it and it's still more than enough to haul my motorcycle in the bed and a trailer behind it with everything I'd ever want to pull. Can't wait to watch the miles stack up on this thing.
