Yeah, that was my initial thought too when I first received it. I thought I had overpaid for some cheap plastic but every time i wash the truck, the heritage emblem still looks brand new.

I have a friend that lives in NM, south of Santa Fe. The pics he sends me are all amazing.
Besides Texas, I would love to live out there.

 

How was it? This one is on my to-do list.

 

Very pretty. I'm stock with worn out suspension, so there were some challenges. Got to the mudbog and turned around. It was also raining and I was alone.

 

I thought I'd go out today and take a few pics of the Tactical Panda wearing its new Goat Armor livery.

The field surrounding this tree (first picture) is about 10 miles west of Fredericksburg, VA where I currently live. It was on this spot, May 2, 1863, under an ancestor of this very same oak tree that Lt. Gen. Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson, CSA, staged his infamous flanking maneuver that sent Union General Joseph Hooker's army into a rout during the Battle of Chancellorsville. So ingenious was Jackson's tactics that his actions are still studied in War Colleges to this day.

But Jackson's victory was not without consequences. That evening, when returning after dark following a short reconnaissance mission, Jackson and his entourage were fired upon by friendly forces who mistook them for a Union scouting party. Jackson suffered a wound to his right hand and two bullets in his left arm so severe that it was necessary to amputate that arm in the field. General Robert E. Lee, upon receiving the news, said "He has lost his left arm, but I have lost my right arm."

Jackson was subsequently evacuated to Guinea Station (second picture) about 20 miles southeast of Chancellorsville. Within a few days, he developed pneumonia. Then on Sunday, May 10, 1863 Jackson's condition took a turn for the worse. Though he became physically weaker he remained spiritually strong, saying towards the end: "It is the Lord's Day; my wish is fulfilled. I have always desired to die on Sunday."

Shortly thereafter, with his mind now in a delirious state, he uttered the words "Let us cross over the river, and rest under the shade of the trees." and then died.
