So I’ve managed to piece together enough information to have a good handle on how I’d like to lift my truck.

I am going with one of the 4

    1. Bilstein 5100 w/ Eibach Springs
    2. Bilstein 5100 w/ OME 888 coils
    3. Eibach Pro Lift Kit
    4. Bilstein 6112/5160

I plan to grab an AAL, likely wheelers since HS 3 leaf AAL has been out of stock for about a month now, and I’m still debating on getting UCA’s. Seems like if I want to run a 285/70/17 I’m going to need them... so might as well buy once and cry once.

That being said does anyone have recommendations for one of the 4?

I’m thinking the Bilstein 6112/5160 is overkill for my uses (most dirt I usually see is getting to hunting or fishing locations), with the exception that id like to try out flag pole knob or big levels but haven’t found the time to get out there.

So my immediate thoughts are to go with:

-Bilstein 5100s (set to highest notch)
-Eibach Springs (because I read that the OME 888’s tend to sag over time)
-Wheelers or Rogue Offroad 1.5” AAL
-SPC or LRC UCA’s (don’t know if this is a good brand or not, feel free to learn me, but I saw them on sale for $450 which seems cheap for UCA’s)

Then I’ll probably mount Fuel Rebel 6’s or TRD Pro wheels (0mm offset) to a set of 285/70/17 Falken AT3W’s since they seem like a good bang for the buck, despite my heart wanting ST Maxx’s lol.

Anyone able to help a noob out?

I vote 6112/5160s, but I am biased. I think they are the best bang for your buck.

From what research I’ve done, you don’t need to preload or set your Bilstein’s at any height if you use aftermarket coils since they provide the lift. But if keeping factory coils to achieve lift, you would utilize the notches. If you do go aftermarket, just make sure you get coils that will give you the amount of lift you’re looking for. I plan on running 5100’s all the way around for a 2 inch lift and an looking at wheelers T2 coils (2 inch lift) which are essentially just eibach coils. Good luck.

Ah, I didn’t realize that. Thanks.

so the wheelers T2 coils are basically Eibachs? And they’re cheaper? I read the eibachs will help you achieve 2.75” of lift, so that would be nice

yeah man, eibach and wheeler designed them, I stumbled on them. Link is below. They won’t give you 3 inches though. You’d have to do some more looking around. @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc might be able to provide more insight

I’m biased since I’m running 6112/5160’s but they ride great and perform well offroad. Your not going to get a 3 inch lift which I think is why some people are not about them. Best bang for your buck in my opinion

I remember reading a thread where people were getting slightly above 2.5” (like 2.63 I think) is that not the case in your experience?

I have the 6112’s set on the 5th setting and I got like 2inches. Don’t want to go up to 6 and compress the springs to much.

I believe you can swap out the 600lb coils that come with the kit to 650lb to gain another 1/2in of lift. I am not currently running this setup, just been researching to upgrade my current 5100& AAL setup.

    That’s for a 2nd gen Tacoma.

I have mine 6/5 and it was basically spot on 2 inches.
