I might try this out too just to see what it feels like. The BFG’s I have are way heavier than the stock tires and a smidge bigger. Curious, why did you not reset the values?

Hey thanks! I've been looking for these files myself. I thought they had gotten deleted in the update. Windows>Program File(86)>VF Tuner>Tacoma>2018>

I wanted to compare rapidly and not go through the 500mile awkwardly shifting and driving process after the values are reset. I felt that I would forget how the other file shifted and performed by the time I got to drive the 500 miles. Wanted to eliminate as much as posible a placebo effect in my mind. I also understand that this is not recommended and it is not the correct process provided by OV tune.

What is the rational behind to use large diameter tire tune on stock tire?

From my understanding the shift points for bigger tire tunes are set up higher to avoid engine bogging caused by higher diameter and the additional weight of bigger tires.

I noticed it was more aggressive on holding the gears with ECT on at lower speeds.

With the ECT button on is how they should drive in normal mode. Little lower shift points and ECT mode is perfect.

This 100%. I’m at twice the RPMs going 50km/h than I am going 105 lol. ECT is unusable for me at low speeds no matter what I do.

We will have limited availability 10th to 14th.

We will have another update to vf tuner in early August. ( last big update for a while I promise ).
Will include some enhancements, map fixes, and such.

VF Tuner auto tuned files are expected to release before the 11th.

This might be a dumb idea or question, but would it be possible to flip the way the automatic shifts in S mode with the tuner? So instead of it shifting up when you press forward on the shifter, it would instead down shift and visa-versa.

I know it’s a little thing, but it’s always felt bass ackwards the way you shift in S in the Tacoma.

It’s been old and dumb for quite some time. People with no imagination or creativity simply mimic what others have said.............

Are you guys projecting that the 2.0 with everything will be released on VF first before flash manager? If so I will get the VF.

You’re more active in this thread than the flash kit tune thread. Hence the reason they’ve migrated to here now and will likely be more over time as vf tuner gains popularity and more usage. Just ignore em completely and don’t let the 1% bring ya to their level.

On a side note, I did read somewhere where someone made a comment and posted some graphs on his throttle change to make it more linear. Hoping to find time for vf tuner and play with those settings also if ever 2.0 is released for us to play with in vf tuner also because I’m pretty sure the rest of the settings will be too daunting for someone like me to venture in to.

You always get so upset :p

but god forbid people who are joking about running 2.0 final final final final waiting for 2.0 final final final final final make a small running joke.

2.0 was first mentioned in April 19.

and I’m just a little salty because I can’t use cruise control / had a CEL on for a few thousand miles / traction control is limited (Lots of rain down here in south LA) - because I’m running dump tubes and have no tune for it. I know it’s on me for modifying my truck, but this shouldn’t be an issue for the 4th half assed release of 2.0.
