let us know, because I'm interested.

simple things like an occasional jersey, or shorts, that you'd be buying anyways at 80$ a pop....would be nice to not have to "remember" items like that and then get the occasional fun accessory or edible product along with them.

I do and have for about a year. The good thing is you typically get more value than the $55 price tag. You also get some unique clothing items (hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.) that you won't find anywhere else. The downside is that it starts to get repetitive. I have more front fenders, grips, and air pumps than I can use but I have backups in a pinch.

That's what my concern is, I'm not a new rider so I'm pretty picky about the gear I use. I don't need a flavor of the month set of grips when I'm running RevGrips already. So I feel like I'd be paying $55 for a new Tshirt.

Yea I went ahead and signed up. It’s $55 every month, cancel any time. If things get too repetitive, I pull the plug. That or I’ll just start white elephanting gifts to TW folks.

don't you already pay roughly that for new clothing items though? but then you're getting some random accessories alongside it, occasional tool, food, mug, etc. that you can either keep and replace your items that are wearing out, or maybe gift/sell.

    that's my thought process...maybe I make sense haha....but I'm not subscribed...

Honestly, the Wasatch Crest trail is more fun. It's still a worthy ride, and the views are killer. Again, WC is better in every way... Recently did the Crest->Meadows->Mid Mountain->Insurgent->Ricochet ride, and wow was that fun!

Having been a little bit into the 'racecar scene' I can sum up in a few words. Cars and bikes are extremely different in how they brake. In a car you controller is set to a fixed % of brake power front/rear. Most are 80/20. That means 80% of your braking force is applied to those front rotors. With MTB application, you control the f/r ratio yourself, and most people are in the realm of 40/60 f/r most of the time. The great thing about that is that you can control the ratio as conditions demand. While rotating mass is extremely important in both application, in a car with rear wheel drive, you are not driving the wheels with the largest amount of brake force. That means your front wheels will typically have larger (and heavier) rotors, which do not impact acceleration as drastically (though it does impact cornering). That allows for a few construction changes such as venting, size, metallurgy, pad size and construction, liquid capacity and line construction. That allows them to combat overheating (and thus fade) in a few ways, fighting fade with a combination of heat soak (how much heat the system can soak until it transfers it overloads) and heat escape (removing heat from the system).
Car rotors are vented, meaning they are essentially hollow in the middle, which aids in heat transfer. They are also made up of heavier and specific metallurgy combination that allow for larger heat-soak capacity.
Calipers grow not only to add modulation and power, but to add more pad surface area, additional liquid, and construction can help aid venting.
System brake fluid capacity can be tweaked along with line construction.
Pads can get larger, and thicker, with built in vents to aid in both heat soak and transfer.
Air direction channels are created to direct air into the system at various points to aid in heat transfer.
While vented rotors are still popular, their only real benefit is when the system gets overloaded to the point where gasses are created as the pads heat up to the point where they are being overheated. The gasses create a small layer or air between the pads and rotor, which good venting can allow to escape between the vents in the rotors. You can have drilled rotors where the gasses escape to the vented channel, or simple vents that do not. Both work, but drilling compromises the rotors strength and can cause cracking.

Bikes are much lighter, therefore the heat generated is MUCH smaller. Smaller systems can handle that.

Just like bikes, all things are compromises. You have to pay to play.

Get the SD, having the option in the future and the extra stability is worth the small upgrade fee. Also, get the handle. Makes life 1000% better.

Jesus, your tires last a year?! I'm replacing tires every couple of months max...

    not enough.
I'll take a white elephant gift from that subscription box! :D

DUDE. The drop into canyons is epic from the crest. did you do Redcoat at all? that's such a sweet approach to Insurgent. Ricochet is such a fast flowy downhill. Canyons has so much more potential but nooooo vail doesn't want to do anything. Honestly prefer the canyons side more than the millcreek side but...don't tell everyone about it. hehe.

Well, my sealant lasts a while. I'm on my 3rd tire this year because first tire ran low on tread. 2nd tire got a cut in the sidewall at Brian Head (side note, I plugged it with the stan's dart tool and surprisingly, it held for the next day). hopefully this 3rd tire lasts a little longer. Sick of buying tires this year. lolol.

I just assume those subscription boxes contain trinkets that didn't sell in the first place so these companies buy them in bulk at a discount.

box examples...doesn't look like trinkets that didn't sell to me. I don't like hats like that, but the rest would be fine.

You'll have wait your turn. @Bannerman already said he wanted all the grips and fenders. Something about being new to the game and not being sure what he needed. I don't know, just trying to help the guy out.
