TACO GARAGE - TRD Pro grilles (and garnishes)

When did you order? I have one on order but haven't received a shipping notification yet, just wondering what the typical lead time is.

For those with the aftermarket garnish, How did your garnish look? Mine finally got here yesterday (two weeks from ordering to doorstep) and I installed it. Once installed I took the protective film off the garnish and was disappointed with the quality. Over the entire garnish it looks like someone tried to maybe clean it with windex or something as there are streaks over pretty much the whole garnish as well as obvious scratches and scuffs. I'm not sure if taco garage noticed this or not based on the protective film being on there, I'm not sure if they are putting that on or just getting it like that from their suppliers, either way I'm disappointed being these are advertised as "the best pro grill on the market" with quality guaranteed. I havent had a chance to drive it yet to make sure it is working properly. I'm thinking of emailing them to ask for a replacement, but want to see if others have gotten better ones, maybe they're all like this




Edit: taco garage just emailed and said they would send a replacement. I will update again once the new one comes in.

 

Mine took about a week after the shipping label was created before it was dropped off at UPS. I think part of it is they're only shipping once per week due to covid, as well as issues with the supply line holding up orders. I recently saw other vendors that sell the grills are having issues with their supply too, not just taco garage. I know it's frustrating to wait so long (two weeks for me) and also doubly frustrating when mine showed up with defects. I am very pleased they are shipping me a new garnish, but they even told me that they're out of stock again so it'll be another wait before the replacement parts arrive

Having trouble sourching some parts for ny order so itll ship when they get em. Im just glad my package isnt lost. Im ok with the other but not with a lost package

 

I don't know if it's just my grille, but grille was just delivered today and the lettering is a like a dark grey compared to the picture listed on their site.

 

post up a pic, I have one in the mail also. Are the letters pre attached or loose? thx

 

Any idea when the aftermarket garnishes will be back in stock? $400 for an OEM piece of plastic seems absurd...

 

There's a lot of other places you can buy the garnish from.

 

I sent TG that question last week and he said in about 2 weeks.
I bought his grill Sat and its arriving this Monday, pretty quick for Hawaii during covid. I took a chance and bought a ebay garnish recommended by someone to work ok. Hope it works, I have washers ready if needed.

 

The TG non oem grill arrived this afternoon and I'm very impressed with the quality vs other non oem that I've seen posted. I paired it with a ebay $20 TSS garnish and I used 4 washers on the top screw to align the sensor straight. I read a lot of the threads and watched a cple videos for tips. I took my time on the install, little under 1 hr. Just a quick test drive but no error codes yet.
Highly recommend the TG grill.
I went with black letters but might add Spr White vinyl later.

 

Just ordered mine! Got the gray lettering. They didn't have the Raptor lights in stock so I'll have to wait for those.

 

Order the lights from @runnin4tacos kit comes with everything you need including the add a fuse

 

I read up on those lights and some people were saying that they only fit on the after market grills from runnin4tacos only, so they wouldn't fit on the one from Taco Garage.

 

My OEM pro grill got damaged, so I just ordered one of these as a replacement. Hopefully I can’t tell a difference.

 

Nope I have a Taco Garage Grill and runnin4tacos lights. You just have to trim down the edge of the lights but thats only depending on where you place them.

Where i placed mine thr 2 inside lights required no trimming. 2 outside i had to trim down the sides of the lights. Only time grill requires trimming is if you want them in the very top row

 

I like how yours are arranged; I'd probably end up doing it that way. Maybe a dumb question, but what did you use to trim the sides of the lights?

 

With my first set i just used a metal hand file. Took long and wasnt as clean. Second time i used a dremel tool. FYI Its the side edges that have to be cut down. Not top edges
