This morning was slow. Real slow. Technically my first bass was a 5” dink. He was great since it took the skunk out of the maiden voyage. I was fairly awkward with the kayak. It’s my first.

after a pretty epic backlash, trying to cast a weightless SENKO (smooth and steady is the key), the very next cast. I did three tiny jerks to bring the lure to life and I watched my line move sideways quickly. Set hook! I sounding like a bumbling buffoon. ‘ good bass good bass good bass.....”. Then I horked it into the kayak. Pure Elation.

2.5 - 3 lbs Very strong fish. 18” long maybe.

So much fun! I’m hooked! I enjoy an uncluttered boat. I’m not gonna strap a bunch of gear to it. Fish with a plain boat until I figure out what bear essentials I need.

Very nice! It's all over with now. The addiction has started. I started a couple years ago and now I own a bass boat, 10 rods, reels and climbing. Nothing beats the excitement of landing that fish. Even if i get skunked, it's just relaxing being out on the water. Congrats on the fish!

Funny. My wife was moderately okay with me buying a bass boat. I stalled her when I said, ‘I’ll need a bigger truck”.

    now, here we are. :)
