    This is troll bait...

So let's compare a cast iron industrial in line 6 from the 90's in a full-size truck to an aluminum DOHC high revving modern engine in a bloated compact rig.

I could understand if this was like a turbo Ranger shoot out vs. the Taco but the 300ci engine really?

    Check your head Corky....

Edit: just saw it has Washington plates. Probably should cut back on the hasheesh.

    Not rude, probably more sarcastic.

Your question is like, which is better for talking the Nextel flip phone or an iPhone 10?

I went from a shovelhead to a Briggs And Straton and I'm really disappointed. Those 8" wheels get too sketchy at 70 mph...

My buddy's 96 F150 with the 4.9 is hitting close to 300k miles but it leaks oil and probably as slow as the 2.7. Mine feels like a Lightning McQueen after riding in either of those 2 discussed engines. Although both are reliable.

What exactly is the premise for comparing such different engines? I mean, yes they are both inline engines, and perhaps both were designed for industrial use as well as automotive. But that about ends the similarities.
My 1960s Mustangs both had 200 cubic inch inline sixes and the intake manifold was cast as part of the cylinder head (one piece). Talk about a horrible design, those engines couldn't breathe for crap. But they ran fine below 3000 RPM, lol.
