    Wife & I just bought a 2016 2-whl drive Tacoma XP. Spending time now reading the manuals and making a short maintenance list. Bought my first car in 1963, Model A Ford, & have had some sort of hot rod or motorcycle ever since; read old guy. Thanks to all the great how-to postings.

    Thank you all. Feels like home already. I talked to the local Toyota dealer today about changing the transmission fluid and filter in our Tacoma. They only flush; did not offer any encouragement to change the filter. Seems like a waste to me not change out the filter ( screen ) and to clean the pan magnets and the pan. As a retired hydraulics engineer, I can tell you magnets are good until they release an accumulation of particles. I'm going to do the fluid and filter change myself as well as add a real hydraulic filter to the line that goes from the transmission to cooler. By putting the filter in that line the cooler is protected too.
