about a 300-400ft decrease in elevation going down. Getting back up might be a problem if it’s wet.

Just trying to eyeball it based on that 1000 ft. scale it looks maybe 1.5 miles or so? If it drops gradually maybe it won’t be too bad. Kinda wish I’d took a walk down it now.

there was another one off to the left about mid way. I think it was Dobson Knob FS Rd. Looks to be about a mile or so long too on google maps.

I think Gaia has the road name crossed up. Wolf Pit Rd is off of 126, on the other side of the river/gorge. The trail head to hike up Shortoff Mtn is up Wolf Pit and it is a pretty lazy gravel road with some houses along the way, no water crossings for sure. Just an FYI, would be curious what is down that road though.

Make sure they're roads. There are a ton of private land / homes in the area, and nearly every one has a gate that looks a lot like a government gate. I'm always surprised by how few have signage, and have had to do the shameful back down a driveway many times.

Made my way up to NC105 last week for some cold camping. Very cool spot. Not very busy this time of year, especially on the south end where I camped. It was very cold, got down to 20 degrees, but my little mr buddy Heater and my Nemo bag were more than enough for my dog and I int the tent.

I met a couple cool people up there too.

The old Toyota mirage camper belongs to a girl on a trip from Florida, who plans on heading west in the spring. She’s got a YouTube channel documenting her journey. You can look up mak and Otis on YouTube to check her out.

I met another guy up there in a 2nd Gen taco with a pretty dialed rig and a slide in skamper pop top. He was showing me his suspension setup when we noticed some CV grease on his mudflap. Ended up his sway bar nut had come off and the loose end articulated into the CV axle and shredded the boot. Oops..

Here are a few pics from the trip. Not too many typical TW photos. I took a bunch of drone footage but I guess I’m gonna have to make a YouTube channel or something to upload it.

the last photo is a section of someone’s exhaust I found on the most rutted out part of the road. It was in the northern end close to the linville falls trail head. It’s a steep section on an S curve that has taken a beating from all the rain this year. I was surprised to see it there given the amount of traffic on that end, thinking some would pick it up. I grabbed it so no one would shred a tire.

I keep having an issue where my drone footage starts lagging while editing it and it transfers into the videos. It's very frustrating, but i think it has to do with me editing it all on my iphone 8 because I done have a computer that can handle video editing software.

Okay, this may be evil, but I really want @El_rojo_grande to have mentioned posting on TW in this thread, and Youtube chica browsing in saying hey let's go check this place out, reading @SearArtist comments, and making an account just to reply, because that would be fucking epic!:rofl::rofl:

It was brief, but entertaining. I think the water may not have been *ahem* cold enough, though.
