Signed up for a ride on Hosepasture Rd in SC. Can't wait. Looking forward to meeting some TW folk. :kona:

Obligatory truck pic, with double dog bonus. The rear D-Rings seeing their intended use.

Its no plate bumper, but did a $3 addition that worked out quite nice.

-I can see my rear tires when on trails
-Easier to navigate tight drive-thru's and garage (DCLB is long...)
    -Much better highway lane-change visibility
-Can see my dog's goofy wind-swept face when they're riding along

Lifted. I did the front "the easy way". hahahaha. Took 2 days for front and back. TWO. DAMN. DAYS.

First the good. I may be the first person with Wheelers coils. (ok, they're really Eibach 112-620's)

Figured a way to reuse stock bumpstops with a u-bolt flip. Flattened the edges, sawed out "tabs", and snugged them down diagonally.

    [IMG][IMG]

Also had no major (vehicle based) issues. No stripped or broken bolts/nuts. Didn't break an ABS sensor or pop a brake line. Always nice.

Now for the bad. And why it took 2 days...

Major issue on day 1; my trolley jack locked up. F me. I had Taco up on jackstands at this point but otherwise i had to do 90%+ of the lift with the OEM bottle jack. Yes, you read that right. Yes, I'm bitter about it.

I did get another trolley jack to get it off the jackstands and put tires back on. Couldn't get it high enough otherwise. Just wish i'd done it sooner (had no second car at the time...)

This is the traitorous mofo... never again Duralast....

Then I was a bonehead and put the coil hats on upside down on the strut. Couldn't figure out why the LCA's were so low... If you ever have to post a thread called "Mid lift install, need advice" it is not good. Thank you TW and @1rooster, seriously.

The rear went OK. Bottle jack hell aside.

There are some oddities with the Billy 5125's. Namely, the bottom does not fit (without modification) into the stock lower shock mounts. After pressing in the sleeve I had to grind the sleeve+rubber a good bit. They're obviously too large when compared to the OEM shocks. (so an extra 45 minutes here...)

Then the top hat lock nuts... they lock immediately, like 2 turns in. Made a thread to ask for advice.

Hit a Firestone for the alignment. All is well, nice clearance on the UCA's and good camber. Got to talk and watch as it was a slow day. The guys inspected my work which was a bonus. Even 3 of us couldn't tighten the unsecured lock nuts any further...

So after all the drama... I am really glad I did it myself. Damn I'm sore though. Stupid bottle jacks. Stupid cutting and grinding bumpstops and shock sleeves.

New shoes. Stuck with 265/75/16 after much deliberation. Goodyear Wranglers. So far, like them very much.

Update 2/26/2018 - What crap those Wrangler tires were. About 6 months in the noise and unbalanced nature (after many attempts) drove me mad. Sold them, now on 285/55/16 Coopers. The ride is SO MUCH BETTER.

Then headed to Brown Mountain OHV park for some test runnin'

Finally received, painted and installed the sliders (which had to be steps for the wife/kids/dogs use) and cargo bar. Actually like them more than I expected and am very glad I did go with a "step" style. Appears they're truly designed to be a step, not just "oh hey, as an afterthought we could weld a flat top piece on and call it a step". Makes easy access into the cab-side of the bed also.

Glad to finally use my hi-lift again. And have it mounted proper.

Pisgah National Forest. Met a dad with a son who got their F350 stuck... the Taco pulled her out like it was a Geo.
