    Hello Folks.

I have a 2008 TRD Sport Prerunner and this weekend plan to replace the suspension from a 3rd gen taco trd offroad with my existing parts.

I've scoured the site, you tube, and the web for instructions and came across several that I now feel confident I have all the required tools and components.

At this time may I get some feedback/ information on the following.

    1) when uninstalling the old leaf springs and shocks is there an order of doing each?

    2) Same question but the reverse...when installing what is the sequence of items to install and if any tips can be shared, I greatly appreciate it.

Below are some piz of what i am installing

    Thank you

Asking if there is a particular side you should do first? No, it doesn't matter. I chose to start on the passenger side when I replaced my leafs. And installing the replacement parts, again doesn't matter which side.

Few tips- make sure you soak your bolts beforehand in wd-40 or some kind of penatrating oil to ensure they come off easy and don't get rounded off. Also the more jackstands and jacks you have the easier it is. I recommend at least two jackstands and a jack bare minimum, but having more is helpful if you're just doing this by yourself.

    Thank you for sharing.

May I also know. Do I uninstall the shocks and then remove the leaf springs?
Thus the install is the reverse?

    Thank you.
Next and hopefully the last question(s) ... I examined each leaf pack and each shock...

Do the leaf packs and shock have identifying marker that indicate either passenger side / drivers side front/back

    Thank you

That I do not know. I would guess that the shocks are identical, but the springs might have a driver and passenger side. My OME dakars are side specific. The drivers side holds more weight because of the battery, driver and fuel tank all being on the drivers side

The rear shocks can go on either side. The rear leaf springs (recall springs)for my second gen have different numbers for the DS and PS on the top. Seems like I've see these same numbers on 3rd gen as well. Could be wrong though. These pictures may help you ID the DS and PS leaf springs. First picture will be the DS, second & third pics - the PS. Hope it helps. Also plenty of youtube vids on changing leaf springs.

    Hi David.

    Thank you.

Question regarding Picture in #1, can you share what the bar is (the one with 5 holes and a bolt under the leaf spring)? Could that be. Roadmaster Active Suspension system.
