Hello Members...I have a 2008 TRD Tacoma 4x4. Lately the doors don't always open or lock all the time. I have changed batteries and I have switched key fobs. Is there some maintenance or cleaning I should do? Maybe it's as simple as the batteries-bought off e-bay or another problem ?
    ...Thanks for any ideas....Archer

Are you trying it with the key fob?
Does it do it with the Lock/Unlock button on the doors also?

Do you have a different fob you can try?
It is probably the connection in the Fob, but trying a different fob (if you have one) will narrow down the problem.

I’m still on the OE battery in my Fob. I never use anything other than it.
Maybe a few times a year, I use the door button. And it’s been years since I used the door lock.

Again, try a different fob. Or order one from Amazon.
There are instructions on this site, on how to program it.
I’ll see if I can find them. Got a little more work to finish up here today.
It may be a little later before I find the directions on programming the fob.

If you feel up to it, you could pull the fob apart and look for any corrosion on contact point.
I’ve never done this, but I personally wait and do this after I get a new working fob.

I have had to replace 2 of my 4 door lock actuators for the same symptoms. Google it and you will find YouTube videos on how to replace them and the parts required. It takes 45 minutes per door at most and it fixes your problem.
