Found me a Camper, took a while but scored a great deal on this 17' thing smells new still..dealer that had it was 10 miles from my land so score there too. The Taco pulled it alright, but of course the engine was struggling, also had to pull my swing out off so i could turn...defiantly re-thinking things now.

I had to get a looong hitch to tow my camper with my swingout - here's what I ended up with: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007M308U/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - that put the ball far enough back that I could actually back up my camper without jacknifing on the spare. I still had to move the jack and propane tank though. My camper's a Forest River Wolf Pup 16BHS.

When you tow, put it in s4 / ect and use the fuck out of that skinny pedal. Don't be afraid to floor it on an onramp. I know you're selling and looking to upgrade to a Tundra, but still, your Taco's got a Minnie.

The Minnies are good trailers, she'll do you well. My boss loves his Minnie, they're good trailers. I upgraded my stabilizers to have ones like the Minnie has, and they're better for winter too. What layout did you get?

Just re-thinking my setup, may want to tow the camper to State Parks ect. Not exactly the ideal tow vehicle...although while the Dakars laugh at the camper, the engine cries...

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
    5.29 or 5.7 what’s it gonna be ;)

    ya know my advice...do both.

Re-gear? I know the MT is supposed to be geared more favorably than the AT, but that still might help now that you have the added weight.

    Though I'd vote for a F150 w/ the 3.5L, max tow and FX4 packages.

Tundra so you can keep it in the Toyota family, plus still get cool mods for it

I tow tons, it has power... If you floor it.

A full-size is always more suitable for towing... My buddy's F250 gets the same gas mileage towing as my Taco does towing. Maintenance is cheap on the Taco compared to the F250, and it cost half as much though. Tundra's a bit better, but again, lots more money for lots more truck.

I wish there was something like the 1st gen Tundra on the market. The 1st gen Tundra is basically the same size as my DCLB with way more capability in general.

Swap a 5.7 into the Taco? Should get amazing gas mileage with the light weight of the Tacoma.....hmm....Toyota? are you listening?

Don’t think that manual is gonna help you that much. You still will be in 4th all day long and dropping to 3rd to get up a hill!
