Pretty excited to take the kayaks out with this!
Ended up selling my Softopper and trifold cover to put towards this setup and I'm darn happy with it!

New grill guard came in yesterday (partially unboxed), but didn't have time to get it installed. And had to work tonight (sleeping during the day). But this bad boy is heavy, but I think it'll look sweet once installed. Had a Westin bull bar on there since bought "new" (to me). Not a real big fan of bull bars, so we'll see how this goes:

It's a Black Horse Heavy Duty Rugged Grill Guard. Here are some of their stock photos (https://blackhorseoffroad.com/i-31598178-d-rugged-heavy-duty-grille-guard-black-ru-tota16-b.html):

Took about a month to get it.

    Minor stuff.
Thank you. That’s the Body Armor Overland Rack. Model TC-6125. Strong rack. Gave myself a good concussion installing it.

That set up looks awesome, for lack of a better term.
For some reason been leaning towards set up something like this versus the camper shell and decked also.

    Hey everyone I'm a new member to Tacoma World20200527_221932.jpg 20200721_203333.jpg 20200730_015108.jpg 20200730_015048.jpg 20200721_203359.jpg 20200527_221932.jpg 20200721_203333.jpg 20200730_015108.jpg 20200730_015048.jpg 20200721_203359.jpg

but i have been scrolling on these forums for years
i check on this mod thread every night before I go to bed

Thank you all for your hard work and inspiration and lessons do and don'ts tips and tricks reviews and comparisons and everything in between

this is such a great community and I'm so glad to to join because now I have a few mods I thought I'd share

I bought a 2 door Tacoma second Gen. And totaled it in 2016 and went out to buy another used and came home with a brand new 3rd Gen Off Road Double Cab 2016
it's treated me well for the past 4 years and with no issues

I was able to save some mula with the quarantine and put on some starting mods. Huskies, Clazzio Seat Covers, Auto Vent Shades, Oem Bed Mat, and a big shot in the dark

I've always wanted a truck bed camper but the expensive fiberglass shells often crack and can't support a lot of weight so im my mind I wanted to get a bed rack

I also wanted to be able to store things under cover so i wanted a bed cover and softopper. I have the OEM tonneu but i wanted more storage.

There is nowhere on this website that goes into much detail about those who have experimented with different soft top canopies with a bed rack over top
there are a few companies that make them but they are not as asthetic or sturdy as the RCI adjustable 18" bed rack

this one caught my eye and I did my homework and like a boy scout I figured out that a soft topper with the rails configured just right might fit under the RCI adapters meant for a hard tonneau cover

After months of procrastination research and lots of waiting and fiddling around with pieces and waiting and waiting for deliveries

I finally finally got my rig to work the way I imagined it and.....
    yes!!!!!
I can truly say that a softopper brand canopy is compatible with RCI brand adjustable bed rack if you use the rci tonneu adapters and some finesse

Finished up a few things recently, installed new front body mount bushings and got rid of most of the squeaking I had before, thanks to another TW member's thread on the subject: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...at-noise-may-not-be-your-leaf-springs.464993/.

Also swapped out my serpentine belt for a new one (80K miles) as the first one started making a racket on startup, and changed the engine oil.

I have a friend who took her first year foundations in carpentry and worked an apprenticeship for quite a while. Could probably ask her eventually.

This looks awesome! Was it a full set or did you have to buy components separately? Would like the link if you still have it.

Man cabinets sound great but along with being difficult and expensive they're super heavy. I don't want to invest in a lift just yet to accommodate lots of weight. I figured out I actually have two rubbermaid shallow bins that will fit perfectly between the wheel wells and the tailgate and they're wide enough to wedge themselves perfectly. I was thinking instead of sliding cabinets I'd want a hatch or something that I can access those bins via, something small and simple if I'm solo camping with my small sleeping pad vs big double wide foamie.
