When on cruise climbing a small hill the tranny drops 2 gears, then after being on the level again the tranny goes back up to 5th but takes a half a mile before going back into 6th or I have to tap the gas pedal just to get it back into 6th. Also what rpm's when driving at 60mph(1500 for me)?

The V6 makes power in the upper range, and the 5th and 6th gears are both overdrive, so yes, down 2 is normal. Mine will hold 5th for a bit too, I think to prevent, and then down shifting again.
