    UPDATE:
just got off the phone with Billy. He just tested a rebuild kit for the latches last week and is going to send me the parts to rebuild mine. Not sure if he was referring to @RUSSELLTACO but he said he was sending some to another guy on the east coast too. If my rebuild goes well, he'll order more parts and make the kit available for purchase. I'll post up how it goes once I have the parts.

it did that on my right (spare tire) swingout for months ... then it broke off and fell out the other week. Billy mentioned the rebuild kit
    1. requires you to use a hacksaw (or any blade you can get in there but he said hacksaw worked for him) to cut out the other 2 pins.
    2. then use a punch to dent the outsides of the pin holes to hold the new pins (3 total per latch) in place
    3. then secure the pins (no idea how yet).

Hes going to send me pics and i'll write up a how to after. Hopefully get it done in the next week or two (whenever I get the parts).

He mentioned new latches are in the $60-70 range where as the rebuild kits should be much much cheaper.

I use the Baja Design Squadron Sport with work/scene clip on amber lense (SKU 550016). I have an extra flip switch in the bed (constant) so i can throw it on when working back there in addition to a switchpro in the cab.

Just got my full hoop front. Still deciding between painting it or having it powdercoated. Rough Midwest winters and salty roads are making me lean towards powdercoat.

could always bedline it yourself. if it starts looking rough, sand down the section and re-spray the bedline.

Is there a smooth bedliner spray? Not a fan of the texture.

I'm guessing hit it with a wire wheel, then sand, then clean with mineral spirits or something along the lines of that, prime with self etching primer 2-3 coats, and paint 3-5 coats? That sound right?

not sure about a smooth one, I just used this one which is textured.

    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Ol...lack-Truck-Bed-Coating-Spray-248914/202097787

As far as painting it yourself, thats basically what I did
    1) wire wheel / sand paper
    2) wiped with mineral spirits
    3) 2-3 coats of self etching primer
    4) minimum 2 coats for the backside of the bumper / sections that won't get touched much and 4+ coats in high impact areas.

way more work than getting it PC but its much cheaper and super easy to touch up when you inevitably need to clean up scratches and what not

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
I used bedliner too but they are all pretty much made with a texture. If I were to do it again I would probably want to go with a smooth finish as well because I feel like it would be easier to clean dust and dirt which tends to build up more in the texture and be harder to clean out.

That being said I would recommend pretty much what @rob1208 says above with the wire wheel/sandpaper/scotch brite to get a clean base, self-etching primer and then make sure you use a quality paint for the top coat. Just make sure that you clean up any blemishes in between coats otherwise you will have to sand down to get rid of it in the end.

You can always topcoat over the bedliner. That will take out some of the texture of the bedliner. I know that @tacobell007 sprays bedliner then topcoats with matte black paint

Hey Brute Force Bumper owners. I ordered a Hybrid Front Bumper for the 3rd Gen last week and a set of Rock Sliders. For now I will not be adding a winch but I might at some point in the future. My question to all of you is will I need to upgrade the coils in my Bilstein 6112's? The added weight of the bumper and sliders has me thinking I will need to upgrade. I already purchased a set of the Bilstein B12 650lb springs but I have not installed them yet. What do you all think? Will I need to upgrade the coils to stay at the ride height I am at right now?
