Description
The involved vehicles are equipped with a Pre-Collision System (PCS) that may automatically apply the brakes if the system detects a potential collision. Due to the mounting of one of the system?s sensors, it is possible for water to enter the sensor. This can lead to PCS deactivation or inadvertent brake activation resulting in limited deceleration for a short duration of time.
Remedy
Any authorized Toyota dealer will update the PCS software and apply sealer to the millimeter wave radar sensor in the front grille. In the rare case that the vehicle is currently exhibiting the condition, dealers will diagnose the sensor and replace the sensor, as necessary, FREE OF CHARGE.

No idea what the TSB number is. Look everywhere on the net for over an hr.

I know that TSB has been posted on TW somewhere that I have seen.

 

It doesn't come up as a "recall." Just a "manufacturing communication."

if I ever get it fixed, I'll do a sticky on it. What a joke Toyota thinks we need a radar in front of our truck, but they don't think they need to make it actually work right

Yeah. The non-fix for modded Tacos is BS, esp when there is a calibration process. I believe some easy numbers could be written comparing 3in or even 4in lifts with 35s to a stock truck with a full capacity load in the bed. Trying to explain that simple math to an SA, SM, or corporate would be useless.

I tried asking corporate about what some simple wording in the 2017 OM was. It took them three tries over three weeks and still couldn't get a valid answer.

 

I just want the error code gone. I could care less about having a sensor. Toyota lost me as a customer over this.

 

I hear you. On my side reading about the upcoming TSS-P for the 2018s is what kicked me over the edge and getting a 2017.

Hopefully you (we?) can locate the files to fix it.

 

Does anyone have a working Driver for the MINI-VCI J2534 OBDII cable? I am using version 15.00.026 Techstream with MVCI Autokent-X64 - 1.4.3 Driver. I double checked in Device manager and Windows is seeing the USB/OBD cable fine on COM3.

I can communicate with Techstream, and see TPMS data, etc. When I go into 'Engine and ECT' tab and hit Data List. I get a Fatal Error Code 0xC0040001.

I have been told my @tonered that its a comm/cable problem. If anyone has a working driver please let me know!

Yes. I am told the account approval happens pretty quickly. No need to scroll. Once you have the account, the drivers are in the OP.

 

I actually used 14.2 techstr ver and the 2.0.4 version of the driver. Works great. I was able to do health report, update settings and even do data recording on ecu today. Maybe try lower version of TS in tonereds sign.

New version is out in the wild, V15.20.015 - supposedly there is a security vulnerability in older versions:

"A vulnerability was found in GTS software version 15.10.032, and older version. A malicious third party could execute arbitrary code or cause a Denial of Service(DoS) attack. This vulnerability has been fixed in the latest GTS software version 15.20.015."

 

When you say "Tactrix" cable, are you talking about the old school OBDII Tactrix "cable" or the OpenPort 2.0 dongle?

I have 3 of the old school Tactrix cables from my Subaru obsession, which still lives, so if I can use one of those cables with TechStream to eliminate the freaking seatbelt chime, I would LOVE to do so...

I suppose my question is, what is the difference? On TW, we use Tactrix, OpenPort, and OVT / Tactrix interchangeably and are using the adapter that we can buy at tactrix.com .

You do not need the extra Subaru or Mitsubishi adapters though.

 

So, without having to read through ten pages, can you disable the horn beep when you lock and unlock the vehicle using Techstream?

 

Yep. I think you can even do this one in the H/U without TS?

There is a link at the bottom of the 1st Post in the ECU Update thread that shows all the TS Customization screens for a 2020 Taco.


The only sound that we cannot kill with TS is the H Key in chime. There is also the three tones in the PTS Tacos that can't be killed by programming.
