I have an SR, so nothing fancy about my existing head unit. It’s just the 6” basic entune that does nothing like XM, navigation, maintenance features, or really anything. I have upgraded the speakers and will be adding a sub. Anyway, I am considering a Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX for a new head unit. Anyone have any experience with these? Or does anyone have any thoughts (or better yet, pictures) on a dash kit with these double din style head units in the 3rd gens? I looked at the thread on the 6600, and it looks really good, but considering I would also need to replace the bezel (and by extension, the Vent trim rings back to black), I don’t think it would be worth the extra $550ish dollars.

Sounds nice. Some of us like simple.

I even bought a 5 lug. 4 less lugs to torque.

I ordered the Head unit yesterday, so will probably be installing it next weekend (hopefully, time permitting). I'll post some pictures and let everyone know how it turns out.

That’s the radio I’m planning on going with, looking forward to your experiences! Did you get a idatalink maestro too?

I did get the iDatalink maestro. I plan on incorporating a video switch that switches between four cameras, but other than that it will be a pretty straight forward install. Hopefully painless :fingerscrossed:

I starting wiring everything together today. I am waiting on some wires, so won’t actually be installing it until next weekend, but was bored so I figured I’d do what I could. Anyway, it is a good thing the head unit is so shallow because I think there is more in the wiring and stuff than the actual head unit. 67B5F1FE-69F6-4D2F-BBBE-EC7119311D54.jpg

I had a feeling it would create a rats nest back there. Looks like my Key amp is coming out for sure!

Sorry everyone! I am off all next week and will be putting in my main wire harness and then the new head unit. I just had to wrap a few things up and needed a few parts, but everything has arrived now, so soon.

Finally got it in. It’s a little more recessed than I would like, but I think I can do something about that, but that will be later. The install kit is a little darker than the dash, but not too bad. All in all, very happy with the way it sounds and the wireless CarPlay is working great. The screen size is pretty comparable to what I had (the 6” entune, my truck is just an SR) 01DE0034-283F-4EBA-ACFE-183CACB6FBB5.jpg

SR's come almost fully dechromed from the factory, so those are stock. The only chrome inside is the steering emblem, the 4X4 selector, and the cup holder.
