Started with the blower motor not working. While testing the motor on the battery I connected the leads backwards causing the leads to get hot. Reversed the leads and motor works. But, after this the truck will not start. Lights & dash lights work but nothing else works. Windows don't even work and I can't take it out of Park. I've swapped around fuses and still the same. Battery has 12.5 volts, headlights are bright. Need some expert advice please.

Did you disconnect the battery and reconnect? If so then it might be best to take to a shop.

Yes, I hoped that would be a reset, didn't work. Trying to troubleshoot at home, going to a shop will have to be towed. Can't get it out of park. If I don't figure it out that will eventually happen. Thanks

The concerning part is that the windows don’t work.
Let’s hope a fuse blew and stopped any major issues.

    Check the 140A Alt Fuse
    50A J/B Fuse
    50A AM1 Fuse
    30A AM2 Fuse.

    Don't forget IG1 NO2 Fuse.

Use a meter or test light to check the fuses. Visual isn't accurate or recommended.

    <<<< Electronics Tech here.

I am confused about one thing. How can connecting a DC Motor to a battery backwards cause wires to get hot.

A DC motor doesn't care where the leads go, if connected backwards it should just run backwards...

I think you did something else...

    I thought the same thing.
Then went with the worse case scenario,
    Like maybe the battery leads.
That’s why I posted the fuses above.

Might as well check the 10A Stop
And 7.5A Acc fuse, that all ties to the Shift Lock.

Like others said, we need more info here.

    Hopefully the problem is minor.

What do you mean by testing the motor on the battery?

did you connect wires from the battery posts up under the dash to the blower motor connector? Did you take the motor out of the dash and test it on the bench with a battery right there?

TnShooter, you are right, it was the 50 AM1 fuse that fixed it. Wish I had posted this a few days ago. Thanks for the help
