I read the turd gens only have 4 slots allocated for tpms memory... my 17, anyway.... I bought a tpms for my spare... so that i can rotate 5 tires vs 4... Shop confirmed this for me.... which doesn't make sense.... fast forward to this past weekend and I broke the stiff TPMS stem right out of the gate on a rock

I have done my research and I refuse to pay shops any more money... I bought the Autel TS508 tool and an aftermarket (matching 315mhz) TPMS with a rubber stem vs. the long aluminium stem.

The TPMS was delivered yesterday, i was low-key bummed.. even though the stem is "rubber" vs aluminum as OE, its STIFF AF... defeating the intent... just a tad shorter... 1/8", maybe... oh well.... the tool delivers, today. Hoping I can relearn, program sensors on my own, since i foresee a many more TPMS replacements

Plus... being able to rotate in the spare with a tpms that i can erase and relearn is super helpful

@uploadadventure has been shredding valve stems he got some things that band the tpms to the rim and then put normal stubby valve stems in.

So, I used the Autel TS508 tool... Found out the tool only reprograms AUTEL MX-TPM's... but will read/write any "OEM" sensor... Oreilly Auto have our sensors in stock and labeled as "OEM - No programming needed"... Its a lie... programming IS needed BUT it is recognized as OEM by the Autel TS508.... I "relearned" all the tire positions by scanning all the tpm's... new auto part store tpm included... and boom... TS508 read/rewrote all scanned sensors... Truck is 100% good and tire pressure displayed after a few dozen yards of movement lol

I'm going to install the MX-TPMS im getting today via Amazon, in the spare... I can clone / program it with the TS508 and every tire rotation just "relearn" positions... less than 5mins to do the "programming"

@uploadadventure I have purchased the valves and straps... this will be the next project... for now... i just want to enjoy not having the damn TPMS light on and blinking... at least till the next trail trip, right? lol Thanks again!

Yeah. That’s why I did what I did.
Plus the steel wheel TPMS didn’t read the actual tire pressures

    I’m very happy now.

As much as I bash my 2015 and 2016 Wranglers, they didn't require any of this nonsense. I used 5 different sets of wheels and they automatically read the sensors, didn't touch a single button or do anything. My Subaru is just as annoying as my Tacoma in this sense. This is the only reason I still have the stock wheels.

Went through 5 sets with same 4 sensors or 5 set of wheels with 5 sets of sensors? Big difference lol

back from the dead.. so i have pulled my 2014 tpms id’s via my kiwi3 / obd fusion setup.

can i buy programable sensors and have seller to clone new sensors so i do not have to reprogram ecu for the new sensors. where to buy cloned sensors?

looking to buy TRD sport gen 3 wheels. are gen 3 sensors programmable and compatible with gen 2 ecu?

I have had two sets of wheels with OEM Toyota 2nd Gen Sensors which could not be seen my my ‘17.
The 3rd Gen sees and displays all 4 wheel pressures and location on the dash and has a TPMS idiot light in the dash as well.
