Round these parts, people just run swamp coolers in the window to cool their garages. But, swamp coolers work well here because we get single digit humidity on the really hot days.

I'll take that over hot and 65% humidity!!
The limited time I've spent in the Desert SW in summer heat was entirely more "enjoyable" for this hyperhidrosis sufferer!!

that would be a solution if it weren't 65-80% humidity where i live. the daily afternoon storms don't help either.

Well I've talked with the alignment shop twice this morning to verify desired outcome...Initial call thankfully I could overhear the tech talking in the background, to the guy on the phone, about typically Toyota 4x4's want X done for clearance purposes. I said what your tech is saying is what I want...more clearance for tire (stuffing and turning wise!!). Pretty sure I need to knock down the pinch weld, but we will see not to mention it seems like an ideal fall weather activity (No randyFAB hot weather workhorse here!).

The second call was about fixing the excessive camber, and it involving readjusting (aka more tech time on the clock) to get it closer into normal specs. Said if readjusting was required on both sides it'd likely add an extra hour ...so suffice it to say the camber has proven to be the biggest "cost" driver.

Come on afternoon doc appt. at 1pm, hoping to get to the shop by 3:30 to do a walk through of what was done and take it on a test drive.

Don't you have SPC arms? Camber is literally the easiest thing to adjust. Just loosen that big nut on top and slide it inward or outward to get the number wanted.

Yeah I do. I included typed instructions derived from TW, the SPC instructions with highlighted text of relevant parts (i.e. not installing them or putting in new ball joints) explained that to him, I think the phone dude and the technician are on two different wave lengths.

From what I recall visually from the firestone walk through during and after was the JB is pushed all-the-way inwards on both UCAs...I did that after initial install since the bottom contact was part sidewall/edge and part actual tread...so we lifted her back up, moved the camber setting all in, retorqued and I decided not to fucks with the LCA and just take it to the store we no longer mention by name!

I guess worse come to worse I won't listen to @TaKoToy EVER again:rofl:

Since The Lair is a place of wisdom... while I was replacing my shock bearings, I can’t help but being absolutely disgusted by what two Wisconsin salty as fuck winters has done to my shock bodies and coilovers. What can be done about this?! @EatSleepTacos or anybody else?

nothing really. You could sand them down, use a clear adhesion promoter and clear coat them.

Technically it does slow heat dissipation a bit, but they will look better. I ended up painting my coilovers to make them look better.

I've used a light duty wire wheel on my bench grinder to clean off shock bodies.

All the Clearance via road testing checked out.

Truck is driving straight and no funky camber...wife's car got a flat 2.5 miles from the exit off 95 S. Thankfully AAA tow truck came within 30 minutes, and despite AAA pre-recorded and the customer rep reiterating no passenger transport via tow trucks, our driver was cool and took us to the alignment shop!

Knocking out tire tread puncture tonight over at the neighbors and knock out her oil change, hopefully it's fixable vs having to go grab a replacement tire.

@FadedComa says you need an alignment in your truck after having your wife's car towed home.
