depends on what you want... if you want loud SPL bass go with 12" subs. If you want clear SQL bass you can go with 8" or 10" subs.

I have 2 Sundown Audio SD3 subs running ~1200w RMS. They released a new SD4 version since i got mine.

Ive got 2 Kicker comp rt's in a ported box and its plenty loud. Running 1000W RMS. Gives the truck a nice rattle on deep bass music. Catches in your throat sometimes cranked all the way up.

I have a single Image Dynamics IDQ10 running off 500watts rms. It's plenty loud but very precise as well. With the bass knob you can dial it in how you want it.

Not sure the wattage but I've got 2 10" kickers that came as a whole kit for behind the rear seats. Might be the 1000w. Amp fits perfectly in the middle of the box. Perfect amount of bass for in the cab without rattling peoples walls

I got dual Kicker CVT12s on 1000w with a full system and through the use of a handy bass knob, I can have A+ sound quality or obnoxious boom and everything in between

I finally got my subs wired up yesterday, the build has been on-going and is still very roughed in. Kicker CXA1200.1 with 3 DB Drive WDX6.5G2-4's. I still need to finish the box (clean up and add port).

If you are going this far with the build, I would highly recommend installing sound deadening in the cab and back wall. It will make the sound quality much improved. It did with my OEM JBL amp setup with aftermarket HU/pioneer sub, it definitely would with the elaborate systems many of you are running.

^^^^ THIS! I did it when I upgraded my system and it made a huge difference. Still have to do the roof but I did the doors, floor pan and back wall. I did 2x10" Rockford Fosgate Subs - very happy with my choice.

Yeah , adding sound deadener is def on my list of things to do as well. Now that the truck has some bass, I can tell it really needs it (I think I'm going to end up bracing the box too).
Side note** Anyone here meter their setups? Mine's not near ready for it yet, but I'm curious to know what you guys were able to get to. Thanks :)

Never metered it but I would loosely define it as skull crushing........

A few of my friends build competition level vehicles. Lol that sh*t is definitely skull crushing... Last outing he hit 163dB+ with 40,000Watts hooked up to 8 18"s and it quite literally blew the doors right off :der:
Obviously that's not my goal, but I will post my dB levels once I'm ready to meter. @Southerntaco69 my apologies for temporarily hijacking your thread

Has anyone used rhino spray foam instead of the sound deadening sheets?
