3rd Gen OME Dakar Leaf Springs Making Contact With Shackle

    Hey! I actually live in Louisiana now, and the pic above is from Lake Ouachita in Arkansas.

    Update on the leafs: I ended up lifting the truck up, used and angle grinder to 'round' the edge off the end of the leaf that kept making contact with the shackle and then sprayed over it with VHT black. I also bent the shackle out a bit where it was coming into contact with the leaf. It worked pretty well!

    I've since gotten new leaf springs and shocks, but here are a few pics of my work to help anyone who's interested:

    I've got the same thing going on with my Dakars on my 2017. Drivers side only. Passenger side has plenty of clearance. Didn't start making the clunking noise till months down the road. I've contacted ARB to see what they offer.

    255/85r16 ST Maxx 6112/5160 w/ Dakar RCI armor, sliders, and rear bumper CBI hidden winch mount w/ Smity 20k
    I cut mine during install. As I dropped the truck after install, driver's side bound all up. I took them back off and cut them to avoid this on a trail. SUCKS to have to do this because they can't adjust the springs to fit the Tacoma instead of a Hilux. I'll be buying Deavers next time.
