Any places between Sac and placerville that offer reasonably priced paint jobs? I just want my driver side bed done cus it’s chipping. Maaco quoted me $1000 for it. Hard pass. Jackson area as well.

Painter here. That price isn’t bad. Does the bedside need any body work? Also maybe take it to a better body shop.

To do correct repair you want to remove all on bed side , fender flares etc. Wish I had time I’m not far from you. Let me know what happens.

I work at a well known shop Downtown, I don't know if I can squeeze you in but if you send me pictures I can ask the painters if they want side work.

Chipping on a bedside sounds like paint that isnt sticking. So it will probably have to be stripped.

What kind of touch up paint do you have? And what kind of damage are you repairing.

I’ve touched it up with a rattle can so it’s hard to see where it’s been chipped but easier to see if zoomed in. It’s an easy 2+ feet long.

Holt Auto in Auburn has done stuff on my work trucks. They’ll discount for cash too.

If you could find a private backyard kind of guy that might be best.

Ever thought of giving it a go yourself? Spay gun isnt expensive, and paints, hardeners and clears are reasonably priced at a paint shops... You';d be surprised how easy it is.... PREP IS EVERYTHING with painting...

You need good equipment too. And you need good technique otherwise you can have runs and overspray all over the place.

But yeah its not impossible to do a “good enough for farm work” job with a little time and effort.

I thought about that too but figured I’m just more comfortable paying a shop to do it right. If I messed it up at all I’d never forgive myself lol. I have zero experience.
