If you need bed stiffeners to prevent damage then you're hauling too much shit around. I've had a 200 lb cap on my truck 13 years. No damage because I don't carry crap on top of the cap. These are VERY light duty trucks. Instead of loading them above their capacity buy a heavier duty truck.

    Yep. Same thing.

    $100 for useful stiffies? Yes.

$25 for an extinguisher (on sale at Costco)? Yes.

@Qjake - Think of it this way, as someone else already said: better to have and not need than to need and not have. They're about $130-150 bucks. If your bed topper was about $150 more expensive, would you still have bought it? If it came with stiffeners, as a precaution for bed deformations - would you have installed them? ALL the forums are the same my man - ask a question and you get the whole spectrum of answers from "go for it" to "might as well set a torch to your truck". Just sort out the good ones. I think you're looking for some anecdotal evidence that's scarce. Do beds warp? Yup - especially our composite ones. How often and from what? Holy crap - everything from wheeling an empty bed to mounting a tank turret in it. I feel your frustration man. FWIW: Nothing bad could come form getting them - except the $150 hole in your pocket. 6 pages into this - it doesn't seem like a whole lot of proof pics are coming.

Where is he asking about 2020's only? Reads like a 3rd generation question.

I can tell all of you this, I’m not buying stiffeners any time soon.

Sliders on the other hand, I can get behind that.

Following this for a few days. Personally, i went got stiffeners to help with the cap i had at the time.
Given OR stress, and an RTT it was worth it. However, after that stage, the tiedowns were invaluable.
If you've got $150 or less to spend its worth it, if you plan on keeping the truck for a while...

This! Actually I wasn't looking for 3rd gen specifically but 2nd & 3rd as they share the same bed support structure, guess I should've pointed that out. I asked here because I have two 3rd gens in hindsight I should have asked in the generic Truck & SUV forum.
