The tray is - well - a tray underneath. Super easy to pour off. And really easy to line with foil. I have the Cuisinart AFR-25 and have never had to clean anything else inside other than basket and tray.

One of the hugest advantages is the large rectangular basket. When I had the egg one, round and deep was not advantageous to even frying. Also I think some of the round units are temp. limited by the plastic construction.

    Anyway to each their own!

I guess this is the part that confuses me.. and why I (incorrectly?) assumed this would be a PITA to clean?

Its not awful, just spray with cooking spray and its easier. Let it soak and it scrubs off

I put aluminum foil on the drip tray to make easy cleanup. The air/fan comes from top down

Same clean up as any basket. It has some antistick coating that most stuff just knocks off. I don't need to clean it every cook.

OK here is freaky healthy but tasty weird AF recipe.

Yeah, takes some courage. Buy these: https://www.morningstarfarms.com/en...ms-grillers-prime-veggie-burgers-product.html

(don't let your manly friends see you, but chicks will continue to dig you)

Then cut into 3/4" or so strips. Yeah long and short strips, it's a circle :D:p

Then get the strips a little wet with olive oil or oil of your choice - sprinkle a healthy amount of chili powder, smoked paprika, and garlic powder evenly on the strips. Basically coat them with a spice mixture of your choice.

In the rectangular basket for 2-3 OR SO minutes at 375°-400°F. Just until a bit crispy.

    Oh hell yes.

My air fryer came with a little wire rack meant for hot dogs or sausages etc.. heck I flipped it over and threw on some corn tortillas and air fried them 400F for 3-4 minutes and made "hard shell" tacos

    IMG_20200907_180022738.jpg

If you put the meat on the top..the juice soaks into the lettuce/cheese/whatever and doesn't run down your arm

So, once you air fry bacon you can’t go back. Fryer was buried in the pantry this morning so I just pan fried my bacon today. Bad idea, it’s so much worse on the stove top lol.

Best bacon is oven baked. Line a baking pan with aluminum foil, put a rack on top, and lay the bacon out. 350 for 30 minutes.

    Perfectly flat, evenly cooked bacon!

Try it in a smoker. 250f for about 2 hours. Only downside is having to plan ahead. Good smokiness flavor and the only time I have ever enjoyed the fat part of the bacon when not crispy. Then if you want real crispy it is only a few seconds shy of it in an pan or oven or air fryer.

Good suggestions. I’m an apartment dweller but the first four things I’m buying when the wife and I finally find the house we’ve been looking for are:

    Hunting Dog
    BBQ
    Smoker
    ATV
