What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Installed a toolbox between the header rail and the wheel wells for my tonneau-equipped DCLB. I was a little nervous, since all I used was CAD (Cardboard Aided Design) to see if the dimensions would fit. With a couple added 2x4 sections on the bottom and 2 inch thick 4x4 sections on the rear, it rocks right into place and won't budge more than an eighth inch. I added the ratchet strap as insurance; two is one and one is none.





The box itself is a WeatherGuard Super Lo-Side, P/N 186-3-01. As you can see, I can carry a whole damn auto parts store in it. The box edge protrudes far enough past the cover to act as a seat, but is short enough so I still have nearly the bed capacity of a short bed truck. Couldn't be happier. Now, do I paint it black or leave it be...

 

Installed some fog lights on the wife’s Corolla. The LE did not come with them, even has an option. But there are several aftermarket kits available.

Parked next to a 2nd gen...so it counts. Sorry for the crappy pix. Raining out.

Bought these BAMF full skids for my truck today for a STEAL, decided they weighted too much, so I sold them and almost tripled my money. Not a bad day. Love buying and selling tacoma related stuff.

 

What kinda weight are we talkin?

 

The posting on the website says 210lbs. My guesstimate is roughly 175-185lbs. Thats enough to make you do suspension changes. If they were aluminum I probably would have kept them.

 

True true. I'm already at .85 on my 885s because of my bumper and winch.

I'm not adjusted at all on my 5100s. Nor do I want to add any preload to the spring

 

To each is own. Makes up for the added weight with no issues. Rides like it did @ 0

New suspension! Ended up getting 2.5 in the front and 3 in the rear. Huge thanks to @Casper66

 

Blacked out the steering wheel. Added the Loncky sew on leather cover, matte black vinyl emblem and buttons. Sewing the cover on is extremely tedious, I will never do that again lol

Looks good! What coils are those? Block in the rear or leaf pack?

 

OME 885 coils. No blocks on the rear, Bilstein 5125 with Wheelers 3 leaf AAL

 

Awesome! Good to know 3" with those AAL! Good looking rig

 

Went out today. Had some fun. Got stuck in the mud and now I have to chase down a power steering leak once I get the mud off. Great day though.
