    I would say hand plane or jack plane. It would be laborious but probably faster than building a sled and less dusty.

    Suggestion, find a commercial cabinet shop and offer them $25 to run it through their planer.

    Has anybody had to put a lien on a clients house ? I have a client that's trying to stiff me for 6K.
    Basically I bid the job for stain then when I was showing them stain samples they asked to see natural and chose natural now they want it stained and there's no way that I'm going to re-send it for free.
    They scheduled final a walk through at 3 PM after I finished the job so I reminded them via text "now that I finished the floors per your request I am not taking a penny less than you owe me".
    Then they fired back with don't bother coming here, we'll have you arrested for trespassing, etc, etc. BTW, I've been sanding floors for a little over 30 years, I've had my own business 15 years
    and in 15 years I've never had an unhappy client, never had a negative review and never NOT gotten paid for my services..

    Of course I have a contract, and the contract says "stain of choice" and on stain day I arrived with enough stain to do it but as I said they chose natural instead.
    It's common for flooring contractors to have a client sign off on a stain color but natural is natural.
    When I met with her she wanted to stain, when I met with both of them he wanted natural - so they were clearly not on the same page.
    The guy broke the golden rule, which is "Happy wife Happy Life". Now they're trying to take it out on me.
    I think it's a slam dunk, I have plenty of before, during and after photo's of the floor and the stairs, receipts for all of the stain and finish that I purchased..

    I already know that these scumbags are just trying to get a free floor, so I have to show that I'm willing to do anything to make them happy.
    So I'm sending this letter and if they don't accept (which I know they won't) then they look like the unreasonable ones to the judge - followed by a lien notice, followed by small claims court.

    "Customer satisfaction has always been extremely important to me. Since I started my company in 2005 I’ve never had an unhappy customer and I have never not been paid for my services so this is definitely new territory for me. I always do a final walk through on every job before receiving final payment to ensure that my clients are 100% happy with my work or they can also point out any areas of concern that they might have. If you don’t give me an opportunity to walk the job then I have no idea how to make things better for you. I’m more than willing to re-due the entire job and provide you with as many samples that it takes to find the perfect stain color “THAT YOU BOTH AGREE ON”, but since you already chose natural I would have to be paid in full for the work that I have already completed then we could discuss a new (perhaps discounted price) to re-due the floors, since I typically give a discount price to repeat customers anyways. I assure you that the floors can be safely re-sanded. Now that I have already sanded off most of the previous stain color it wouldn’t require nearly as much sanding to remove the current natural finish. Since quality can be extremely subjective, before moving forward I believe that I also have the right to have an experienced flooring contractor come in and give a fare evaluation of my work. I’m looking forward to resolving this matter"

    You definitely need to do a spelling check before you send that.

    re-due -> redo

    fare -> fair

    I got all power tools and never invested in a hand plane. It’s on my list of want for sure but I think the table is too big for handwork.

    my experience with shops hasn’t been so great that’s why I end up investing in tools to size the board. It’s also quite a bit of footage so I don’t think 25 is gonna cut it. Hate how I paid for milled boards that end up needing to be milled again since it’s not flat for glue up.

    I got a 13” planer, 6” jointer and a track saw to make things straight. Very curious if there might be some way to make the boards flat easier/faster.

    Appreciate any advice. Gonna work on the cabinet door frame and raise panel in the mean time.

    this is my intention but I am not choosing to surface the whole face with the router. Planing to just route the edges than flip it and sandwich two strips of mdf to offset the routes edge off the planer table. Essentially creating a flat plane. Might have to use some type of double side tape so the mdf don’t slip off.

    Router sled works great. That's how I flattened my workbench.
