265/75 r16 year round or 265/65 r17?

    Bought the truck with two sets of tires/rims.What do you guys recommend for year round tire size and wheels?

    My truck came from the factory with 265/70/16's which are identical in overall dimensions to the 265/65/17's. I upsized after a few years to 265/75/16's. They are the same width, about 1" taller.

    I like that size better. It is as big as you can go with no modifications and virtually no downsides. Replacement tires are usually less expensive because it is a more common size.

    But since you have 2 sets of rims I'd be tempted to try to use them both. Unless the tread is like new used tires/wheels don't bring a lot of money if you try to sell them. The actual tire would determine which ones I'd use and when

    Do you live where a set of winter tires would be worth while?
    I am in southern KY. Some years its worth it, some years we might get 2 inches of snow.

    If went east over I90 pass or around here in the foothills of the Olympics but no I really don't see much snow here in Sequim.

    Previous owner used it up in the Cascades and around here in the Olympics he said. I just bought it. He had the Bridgestone duelers for fun in the snow he said.
