Why don't you get a Scepter military gas can, proven and trusted by the US, Canadian and NATO army forces!

I have a couple of Sceptor mil spec plastic cans (these are 2007 era before CARB shutdown civilian purchase)...imo pretty darn good cans if you can find ‘em.

Not the Scepters...they're straight gas cans, diesel cans or water cans, no California bs.

Princess Auto is one of the stores, and then there's another in British Columbia but unfortunately the name doesn't come to mind. I know a 20 Litres army green can is around $78 CAD. So try Princess Auto

I'm just happy that somehow I haven't died from using VP plastic gas cans ($18 at my local farm store) for the last 20-30 years

For those of you not aware, EZ-POUR makes replacement spouts/vents that fit most modern gas cans: https://ezpourspout.com/ They are relatively cheap but work great.

    I bought this one:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HRFF4LW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It was a piece of dog crap. Broke about 10 minutes in after filling the jug with fuel. This was not overtightened! Since I threw away the CARB spout (yes, I know that was foolish) I now need to find a replacement.

Would the EZ Pour be better? Or is it the same part just rebranded that "KP Kool Products" ?

Hum, doesn't look the same as the EZ-POUR so I'd bet not a rebranded item. I have a few of the EZ-POUR spouts and caps. Mine have held up well and the worst that happen was the caps got a little chalky from sitting in the AZ sun for 2 years. I emailed EZ-POUR about it and then sent me replacements for free. Overall, they are the best non-metal spouts I've found.

LOL, OK, I bought one! $14 and change, so I figured that's better than just trying to pour out the fuel (it's full, 5 gallons) and throwing away the can.

    20200516_142724.jpg

These aftermarket cap/spouts are what the doctor ordered (I *hate* the CARB ones, they are terrible and leak fuel everywhere) but finding one that is of acceptable quality is a fun task. That's why I started looking at the metal cans but even those don't have pour spouts.
