I got a 2018 Tacoma. I have heard this popping/clunk noise when turning wheel stationary and was told by a Toyota tec that it was normal. Recently started hearing this clunk noise from the front end of the truck when I brake going in reverse. Can slightly feel it too. Got down and looked around and this is what my front passenger side looked like. I could not find any tears in the boot but the shaft itself is covered in grease, especially where the clamp is at. Any ideas what is going wrong?

I have the same issue on a 17 sr5. Did you discover that it's bad? I have a slight clunk/tick when turning at a stop or low speed. Heard it could be the rack moving in its bushings too?

@QuietGeneration: I started hearing a clunking sound in the front of my 2016 truck after I lifted it. It happens when I turn the wheel left/right, and when I’m changing gears sometimes. I just change the Upper Control Arms when I lifted it. Looked under the front and didn’t find anything loose, bent or broken.
