King of stripped bolts...is this a good temporary fix?

    All stock, except for audio and convenience add-ons
    I went 100k miles before servicing my transmission. If you have done your fluid change it should be good to go for a very long time so a lazy temporary fix could be to just JB Weld the drain plug in there. If it somehow needs service or attention again, then replace the pan or do a Heli-Coil. Assuming your overflow plug is still OK so you can do a proper refill after gluing the drain plug in. I guess if that strips you could also JB Weld that.

    A Mechanical Engineering professor in college once told us (jokingly) that "the proper torque for any threaded fastener is 1/4 turn before it fails."

    What torque specs never say is clean threads in good condition. Then there is the ongoing debate with or without lubrication/anti seize.

    Always approach torque values incrementally. I always laugh at “experts” that set the value and just crank. Worse are those that set things like impacts for mounting tires and then give it hell.
