Dorman is a reboxer. They buy cheap China parts, slap their label on the box and market them to the home DIYer. You may get Cheng Shung 1 day and Fu Yuk the next. It amazes me when I go into the parts store and they say, “We have the $18 part in stock, but we would have to order the better quality $25 part.” Really? Are people that tight that they immediately go for the inferior quality part just to “save” $7?

If you buy a Harbor Freight tool, use it 3 times a year and it fails in 3 years, oh well, throw it in the scrap pile. You got your moneys worth out of it.

If you buy a Chinese part for your truck, spend 2 hours of your life installing it and it fails in 3 years, and you have to buy the part again and spend another 2 hours of your life replacing it, that’s not really a bargain. If it fails when you’re 200 miles from home, it’s really going to cost you.

Of coarse we’re just talking to ourselves here, because the OP hasn’t been on TW since he started the thread.
